Description of 1977 Ford Other |
This car is one of two Cruise Wagons I built for my sons. this one was originally redone in 1987 (High School years) with the stock 2. 3 four cylinder and a four speed. Although I thought it would be rather difficult for him to get any tickets. WOW. was I wrong!! lol As a graduation present we added the rebuilt 302 and C4 with an 8" Ford Rear End (300 gears) in 1991. When the car was in Mississippi he swapped out the 300's for a set of 3. 73's. When the car came back to Idaho from Virginia in 2002? he put the 300's back in for the trip across the country. What's in it at present is unknown. The engine was built with a mild cam. the Holley 650 double pumper has been on it from day one. Stock ignition components are still very reliable and will make the Pinto scoot as you would imagine. There is no reason I can think of that the engine would not start and run with all the components re-installed. The body is straight. BTW: the mud flaps were his choice not mine!!!!As the pix show. the front is completely off the car. the hood latch is pins. ALL of the parts to reassemble are in the car. All the glass is good. all the trim inside and out is there. The back seat still looks like new. and the fronts have seat covers to hide the worn original covers. The carpet is very good. and no rust in the floor boards. There is some rust in the right rear quarter just behind the wheel opening. This is a project car. the engine ran very strong when parked 4+ years ago. No battery. has not run since parking. but engine will turn over. This car could become a very interesting daily driver by reassembling as is. or with some new paint. etc. . could become a fun head turner as it once was. Personal preference. reigns supreme. I have 32 pix of the car which I can email (with your email address) to you if you want your eyes to do the walking. I know this car quite well. and can answer any questions you have about it (208-484-2658)Reason for selling: I am not capable of restoring it because physical impairment and because of hard times for him. I now own the car and am selling to recover my "Loan" to him. Shipping is up to the buyer. I will make the car available for commercial transport. Because of the right front wheel bearing being bad. it lets the inside of the wheel drag on the brake caliper. causing the tire to drag and not turning very easy. I pushed it back under the carport with help. so it will "Roll" somewhat. Be aware because it does not run. it cannot be driven on or off a trailer of any type. Transport people will need to know that. With transportation in mind. I will deliver the Cruise Wagon to your driveway for $0. 50 a mile. one way of course. with a 1. 00 mile maximum. My lady and I like to travel. so why not. You will be asked to "suggest" a local Mom & Pop eatery for us to try out. with many thanks in advance!I have this listed locally also. so you know the routine - - first $$$ on buy it now - - owns it. |
