Description of 1938 Ford Other |
Hi. first off let me say that I am listing this car for a very good friend of mine who I am helping to sell the car. the car is a 1938 Ford Deluxe Phaeton. super rare car in its own right. he bought this car over a year ago from a gentleman that had been restoring the car back to original or as close to original as possible. When he bought the car the car had already been painted and was to the point of being ready to go back together. and I believe the gentleman had just lost interest in the car after been working on it for a very long time. When my friend bought the car. he bought it for one simple reason. to drive and enjoy the car on very very long road trips around the country. With that in mind he pulled the drivetrain and suspension. In its place he had a mustang 2 power rack and pinion suspension installed to the front end of the car and a 9 inch ford with single leaf and shock suspension installed in the rear. All of this was all brand new store bought from speedway motors. He had the brakes upgraded to power Disk brakes. The motor in the car is a custom built LS1 with polished intake and throttle body. that is just under 500 HP backed by a 4L60E transmission. The car does feature a new gas tank with in tank pump for the LS1. The car has a aluminum radiator with electric fan. The car also has vintage A/C. The interior of the car is all new and done in imitation leather to look close to original. The dash features custom gauges which are all hooked up and programmed to the LS1 and read correctly. It has a Lokar shifter in the floor. The trunk of the car is finished out just like the interior of the car. very nice. If you notice the car has two different set of wheels on it. one on either side. My friend bought both of these wheels to go on the car. and is giving the next owner the option of choosing which wheel he or she likes best to go on the car. One side is chrome wire wheels with center caps and white walls. an the other side is painted steel wheels to match the car with beauty rings and chrome center caps. So when the car leaves to go to the next owner it will have a full set of whichever wheel the new owner chooses. When he built the car he added brackets to the rear because he had a trailer hitch system to it. because when he drove the car across country he pulled his small bubble camper that he and his wife stayed in. That trailer hitch has since been pulled off to go under his next vehicle but it does have that under their if the next owner wishes to do the same and pull a small camper. The car has about 5000 miles on it now since he finished it. he drove the car across country and up to Yellowstone national park and around. and just finished another trip a few weeks back up the east coast a bit. The car with the LS1 pulling a small camper got 16 mpg. on his cross country trip. and when not pulling a camper got around 22 mpg. The car is a supper car if your looking for one that you can actually get in and drive. by no means is this a 200k dollar trailer queen. if your looking for one of those cars keep looking because this is not the car for you. I will say that the paint is probably like a 8 out of 10 because he has driven the car and it does have rock chips and small stuff like that. so really you can only nock the car for the paint due to the fact it was driven and enjoyed. This car is one you can get in and drive across country with no worries. certainly one you can drive to a show and win a trophy or two and drive back home. This car was purposely built to enjoy. And the only reason for selling is because my friend wants to build a 1956 Cadillac convertible with LS1 powered to do the same thing again in. if not for that the car wouldn't be up for sale because its such a amazing car. The car is for sale locally and is subject to be taken off eBay if sold. The car is also sold as is with no warranty. A 25% deposit is due within 3 days of the auctions end and the balance within 7 more when the car is to be picked up or arrangements are made for the car to be shipped. If you have any questions about the car please fill free to ask and I will gladly answer them to the best of out ability. Thanks and god Bless Kody 251-454-5455 |
