In addition to the original drivetrain, this special Mustang is complete with owner history & preserved documentation dating to day 1. We have the window sticker, original sales invoice, Ford Ownercard / warranty plate, owner's manual, and build sheet. On February 19th, 1970, A well-known gentleman of the time walked into Bob Wondries FORD in Alhambra, California with the goal to pre-order a new '70 BOSS Mustang special for his wife. A repeat customer of Bob Wondries FORD, He instructed the salesperson, Mr. Faries, how he wanted the car and put a $100 deposit on it. According to the sales invoice this BOSS was to be built ASAP. This Mustang would be built on March 16th, 1970, one day ahead of schedule. His wife would love the car and would be the primary driver for several decades in the Southern California area. Fortunately for all of us, this Mustang's original owner ( will disclose names to new owner!) kept his records in great detail. I didn't mention we have a hand-written mileage ledger detailing services performed from day 1. Interestingly his nephew would take ownership of this car in 2005 with 63,000 miles on the odometer. The Nephew remembers his Aunt driving the car to visit him as a teenager and being envious of the car. Some of the incredible documentation is shown above. We also have a Deluxe Marti Report and door decal included. The original decal is still in place. This Boss Mustang is 1 of only 26 ordered with these paint/trim codes according to the Marti Report. The stained document you see is the original build sheet for this Mustang. This is a car that drives out well, steers and stops straight and runs like it should. I want to mention this car has its born-with engine, a wonderful thing indeed. The engine compartment proudly hosts the born-with 302 4V Trans-Am racing inspired BOSS 302 V8 engine. These street-tuned but competition bred engines were fitted with the high-flow 351 Cleveland large port cylinder heads along with a special camshaft & sold-lifter valvetrain. With 10.5:1 compression, they were conservatively rated at 290bhp @ 5800rpm & 290 ft-lbs torque @ 4300rpm. There is a 6,000 rpm rev limiter. This engine retains correct components throughout including the recently tuned 780cfm Holley 4bbl carburetor, iron intake, and hard to factory BOSS exhaust manifolds. Being that this is a California ordered car, it also has an emissions system, still intact. The Thermactor pump is no longer hooked up but intact. Larry Shinoda's aerodynamic background was a heavy influence on the design of the Boss Mustang exterior. The front spoiler was standard equipment and completely functional. The car has been garage-kept and no significant damage has even been done other than typical road wear and a few nicks & bumps from regular use. The paint is believed original throughout this car. Please look closely at our photos. This is a dry climate example its entire life and the sheetmetal condition is indicative of this. Open the doors to 1970. The interior showcases factory black Clarion Knit/Corinthian Vinyl Bucket Seating along with the optional center console and sport deck (fold-down) rear seat. The gauges are functional, including the electric clock. The tachometer was recently sent out and the electronics replaced. Again, the mileage of 65,458 is correct to this car, authenticated through owner history and the mileage log. The interior is in great shape. The seating, door panels, headliner, and carpeting show well. The dash is straight and free of any typical cracks or distortion. I want to reiterate that this is a tight car to drive and is completely streetable and usable. Many collector cars sit and don't drive as good as they look, that is NOT the case here. This is a great running AND driving Mustang. Again, be sure to check out the video of this BOSS in action - The undercarriage is shown in great detail above, original and intact throughout. The 3.50 geared differential was standard equipment in the BOSS Mustangs. These cars were set up to handle and compete in the Trans Am racing series. They regularly out-handled their nemesis Chevrolet Z/28 cars on the track and the street. FORD would take the Trans Am crown back from Chevrolet for the 1970 model year. I don't know if I would recommend using these "Kim Towels." I think they have been in the glovebox since the 1970s. The trunk is in incredible shape. The sheetmetal is original throughout this BOSS. The factory space saver spare tire and jacking equipment is also in place along with the inflation canister.
