Description of 1929 Ford Model A 1929 Roadster Convertible Rumble Seat Ahooga Horn |
1929 Model A Ford Roadster Black with Red Powder-coated Rims & white wall tires (including spare)RUNS GREAT! Needs cosmetic touch-ups primarily to paint & chrome. With help from members of the Greater Baltimore Model A Ford Club owner completed a frame-off restoration in early 1990s after inheriting the car from his uncle. Owner has loved the car since he was a child riding in the rumble seat while his uncle drove the car. Although he still loves the car and wishes he could keep it, the owner survived a widow-maker heart attack and needs to sell the car to pay bills. During the restoration, the engine, transmission, and rear were rebuilt. The electrical system was up-graded to 12-volt and turn signals were added so the car is legal to drive after dark. The frame was powder-coated black. The body work, paint, and upholstery were done in the early 1990s, but they all need touch-ups. The passenger door does not shut properly. We have used a bungee cord to keep it closed, but we have only driven short day trips with the car.Car cruises at 40 to 45 mph; but it's best to stick to less-travelled, slower-speed roads. There are steps from the rear bumper to help riders get into/out of the rumble seat.We love this car, and we know that the buyer will love it too. It's a great car for parades because the top can be put down. It won 3rd place in the Lisbon, MD 4th of July Parade in 2014! Those red powder-coated spoke rims look great wrapped in red, white & blue ribbon! We love this car, folks, and we truly hope that the buyer is someone who will take her out and enjoy her with his loved ones for many years to come. |
