Description of 1970 Ford Torino |
I am selling my 1970 Ford Torino GT. It’s the most original Torino GT you’re going to find as it only has 9,700 miles! I bought the car a year and a half ago and recently moved but don’t have garage space for the car. They are only original once and this car is original in every way. The Marti report and a copy of the build sheet are shown in the photos. I have the wheels (sports wheel covers with trim ring) and tires that it was born with. I replaced them when I got the car with Magnum 500s and BF Goodrich radial T/A tires you can see in the photos. This car is a black exterior/black interior beauty that has always been kept indoors and the paint shows it. The engine is numbers matching and is the N code 429 sporting a healthy 360 HP. I had the engine checked when I bought the car by a local Ford restoration shop and they replaced the main bearings and rear engine seal. The carburetor was rebuilt and the choke works perfectly. The automatic transmission is a C-6 with 3.00 open gears. It shifts smoothly and makes no noise. I had all the wheel brake cylinders and brake lines replaced as well as the master cylinder. The power brakes and power steering were added by the former owner. All the original labels in the engine compartment are in place and do show their age. I had the bearings in the water pump replaced so I was able to keep the original pump housing intact and on the car. The original interior shows extremely well and the seats are the knit/vinyl buckets with the much desired console sitting between. The original floor mats are there with new GT style floor mats sitting on top to protect them and the carpets. The headliner is perfect and the back seat looks like no one has ever sat on it. All the lights and gauges work along with the turn signals. The AM/FM stereo radio comes and goes and the dual rear speakers both work. The trunk is spotless and the cardboard wheel well covers are in place and in excellent condition along with the trunk mat. The exterior paint is a 9 out of 10 and it’s been buffed several times to show its luster. The undercarriage was undercoated when new so it’s been protected from rust and is in excellent condition. The fit and finish of the body panels and doors is very good. I’ve checked the entire car and the body panels are original with no body damage or bondo anywhere. The exhaust system is fairly new and has Flowmaster sport 40s that give the car a nice mellow rumble. This car runs and drives almost like new because of its mileage. No squeaks and rattles. This car really turns heads with its black paint, laser stripe, magnum 500s, and the respected 429 badges. The picture of the display poster came with the car. There are no disappointments with this car! It needs nothing. |
