1957 FORD CUSTOM 300 SEDAN GASSER BLOWN Y BLOCK

1957 Ford Custom 300 2 dr Seda, was a Gasser from way back. Street legal ( basically ! ) and registered in CT. Recently updated with a Speedway Eng straight axle kit with leaf springs and disk brakes. 15x4 Cragar ss up front, 15x7 rear. Hurst front tires, and Hurst pie crust cheater slicks on back. The rear end is the original 9 inch with 3.90 gears. Leaf springs in rear with aftermarket shocks.

The motor is a 1957 292 Ford Y bloc, ECG cast iron head, Isky cam . 4-71 GMC Blower sits on a YBloke blower intake. The intake is made in Australia and costs $1000. It is designed after the inpossible to find Cragar manifold. All new ½ BDS pulley, idler and belt, has a great “whine”. The carb is a 750 Deamon, Mr Roadster Hilborn style scoop. The fenderwell headers are custom made, ceramic coated in white. Sanderson collectors send exhaust out back to Flowmaster mufflers or uncork for open exhaust. The motor runs well, although it feels a little down on power and could use a freshen up. Some blow by out the breather. Great if you just want to cruise the car, but will need to be gone thru if you are out for performance. The trans is a worked Ford o matic that shifts firm, the converter is not right for the cam so it hurts the performance down low. I have a complete 3 speed manual set up that will be included . Trans, new clutch, flywheel, linkage and bell housing. The car already has a clutch pedal installed.

The body is in good shape, very solid . It had some small rust pin holes on the bottom of fenders, door, quarters and trunk lid that were repaired. It looks like all the sheet metal is original with no major rust repairs or patches done on it. Iam sure there is more rust that you can see but I feel it is a solid car. Floors and trun, frame and body mounts look good. There are numerous paint flaws, dings scratches ect but fits the character of the car. The Custom 300 trim is ther, again numerous dings ect. Very popular car at cruise nights ! Always a crowd around it. The custom black interior is very nic, drivers seat needs new foam on bottom. Car has a 4 point roll bar that is nicely done. Custom chrome front push bar, bumper. No hood on car now but comes with a stock hood in great shap, and also a new fiberglass flat hood . It will need to be cut out for the blower.Windshield is cracked .

Overall a very cool car. Just jump in turn key and cruise. I have owned it for 8 years, came out of Oregon. Drives well down highwa, although you do have to pay attention !!Drive as is or restore. Connecticut does not require or issue a title for vehicles over 20 model years old. I do have clear Oregon title from the previous owner and the legal CT registration papers.
