This car must be the definition of the word if you were to look it up. The license plate says it all. The car was built in 1996 by Ken Jones inSandy. regon. known for Upholstery work and also restoring ‘46 Woody Wagons before leaving us for better roads on the other side several years ago. The current owner was a long time friend and bought the car in 1997 when Ken went on to building another car. In all of the years since. the car has managed to accumulate a total of 8. 54 miles. taken out occasionally for a run or show. but kept stored and covered for the past 17 years when not being driven. A long time rod builder and trader once told me that he would never buy a new build. that he always looked for a car that had been driven and sorted out. Getting the tires on the ground was only half way there according to his experience sorting out custom built cars. It was the nature of the beast. With this car. you need to just sit and look at it. maybe move the chair into a different spot every so often. Parked here in front of the desk. it looks to have the perfect stance. the hood and Frenched in head lights in black. just have the look. The top appears to have been chopped 3” and was not the first this craftsman did. It is perfect. All of the glass and window dressings are factory in appearance. The rear window is the stock size. just laid down flat to match the roof line. The rear fenders were welded in. all handles removed and the tail lights also getting Frenched in. The engine was a Crate 350 TPI with an Over Drive Automatic. The front end is from an original Ford Mustang II. the rear end is a 9” Ford supported by Poise Rear Springs. I asked about build images or information about the components. There is a binder with the installation and operating instructions for many of the after market parts. but no receipts for drive train or other work done when the car was being built. Ken Jones was a known builder and at the time. that was probably all anyone cared about it as long as they knew how to make the things work that he installed. For a car that was built 18 years ago. you would not know it by looking at it. It is still absolutely gorgeous to this day. The car was a quality build using billet parts that were the fashion. It has been used and driven. not made into a trailer queen. It is a car that is going to be driven. shown and enjoyed. The one minor issue we have seen is that the driver’s side seat bolster catches as you enter into the seat and becomes detached. It snaps back in place. but it is irritating. There is not too much more that I can say. There are those that are going to know a lot more about the car. the year and the build. Don’t hesitate to call!!!
