Description of 1966 Ford Mustang Fastback |
In 1966 Ford only built around 35000 Fastback mustangs! This is the lowest production for Fastbacks out of all years, that is why you don't see many of them out there! This one has been sitting since 1999 in a carport out of the weather. It is a solid car but does need floor pans (not a full pan, but needs the 4 corners). The frame rails, rockers, trunk, firewall, core support are all solid. There is some rust in the doors and quarters that can easily be patched. All the glass is there as is all the chrome. The rear fold down rear seat is all there and works great. I was planning on restoring this car, but have too many projects going on right now. I did the following to get the car running and driving: Cleaned out fuel tank and blew out fuel lines New Fuel sending unit New Fuel Pump New Fuel filter Put a rebuilt carb in New rubber fuel lines New Brake Master Cylinder New Brake lines throughout ALL new Brakes on all 4 corners New Starter New Trans fluid Flushed Radiator new coolant Put new aftermarket hood on since the original was rusty in the front Car starts on first click, idles great, runs well and shifts great! No smoke from the motor and no leaks! The tires will need to be replaced due to age so I have not taken it out on the road, but it yard drives great. With good tires, I would not hesitate to drive it anywhere! It is an original C code Fastback. It originally came with a 289 2bbl, 3-speed. It currently has a 289 (not sure if it's the original engine) C4 automatic (although it still has the clutch pedal installed). This would be a great restoration project, GT350 Clone, or drive it as is and restore slowly! Mustang fastbacks are getting hard to find and this one is complete and driveable! THIS IS AN HONEST FASTBACK, not a "project car" that is in primer that hides all the bad body work and bondo! What you see is what you get with this car. The car is available for sale locally as well so I reserve the right to end the auction early all the way until the end of the auction. $500 deposit REQUIRED at end of auction. Car is sold AS IS WHERE IS with no warranty implied. Please look my feedback to see you are not dealing with an unknown or new seller! Buy with confidence! I described the fastback as well as I could and took tons of pictures so you know what you are buying, but an inspection BEFORE you purchase if highly recommended. If you Buy It Now please ensure you have your finances in order and are ready to go! I will need a $500 NON REFUNDABLE deposit as soon as the auction ends and the balance within a week. Please visit the links above for A LOT of pictures and videos of the car. I think if you look at all the pictures and videos you will be comfortable you know what you are buying! This is a Great deal for a nice 66 Fastback! Thanks! |
