Description of 1968 Ford Bronco BR ICON #32 |
This vintage Bronco was built by ICON. It is #32 in their extremely limited series. If you do not already know about the ICON BR restored and modified Ford Bronco’s, they are simply the best in the world. A perfect marriage of vintage styling and modern drivability. I have owned several ICON vehicles over the years, and their quality is unique in the Bronco (arguably the entire automotive) community. Go to their website to understand more, or simply Google it. An unanticipated business opportunity has come up, resulting in my need to sell off a few of my nonessential items. This is unfortunate, because I waited a long time for this vehicle. Only in my possession for about one month, and it will be missed. However, business must come first so I am offering it up for sale. Current wait time for an ICON BR is about three years. I am not selling this at a premium over the cost of the build, unlike a few I have seen sell. Beyond the “normal” ICON build quality, I have designed and built dozens of vehicles myself, and I chose to have this ICON sent up to my interior designer, the legendary Sid Shavers, to have my idea for the interior design realized. So in addition to all of the bespoke ICON interior stainless and CNC’ed trim, Sid did the carpet in German square weave with leather binding, and the seats were custom designed and covered in fine Italian leather, with perforated inserts. He hand wrapped and stitched the steering wheel and dash pad in leather. The ICON laser cut stainless door and cargo panel designs were used, with the matching leather used in the inserts. Basic specifications: • Project started with an original paint 1968 Ford Bronco in amazing condition. Not some rat in a ditch. • Bare metal high end gloss white paint. Painted disassembled, then poly urea coated underside and inside floors, Dynamat sound deadening products everywhere. • Top grade US hardened steel and stainless steel hardware throughout. • Custom black powder coated Art Morrison chassis design with four- wheel coil-over suspension. • ICON specific Fox Racing coil-over shocks with Nitrogen charge and remote canisters. MIL-Spec plumbing and finishes. • ICON Specific Brembo brake system with hydroboosted master cylinder. • Dynatrac ICON specific Dana axles: Dana 44 front with Superior axles, Dana 60 based Prorock rear. • Front & rear axles equipped with an ARB locking differentials system. • Front & rear sway bars. • ICON custom 18” CNC’ed powder coated aluminum Old School style aluminum rims with BF Goodrich A/T tires. • Five speed Aisin-Warner transmission mated to an Atlas II part-time transfer case. Dash integrated O/D switch. • Borla built ceramic coated stainless steel exhaust system and headers. • Purpose build MIL-Spec wiring harness with world-class connectors and construction. • All lighting is LED. • Custom soft top runs distressed canvas on the exterior, yet is insulated and then has a secondary top crafted underneath in Mercedes canvas. All top YKK zippers and Tenax snaps. Reflective material was used in the edge hems for added nighttime visibility (it excites when hit by direct light, otherwise it is invisible). • Pioneed AVIC-8100NEX headunit (with reverse cam, HD, CD, Carplay, NAV), Alpine amps, Focal speakers.
