Description of 1930 Ford Model A |
Up for bids is my !930 Model A Ford Briggs Town Sedan 155D. This excellent driver was originally restored in the late 90s. Since then, many cosmetic electrical and mechanical upgrades have been made. Unfortunately for me, my family now prefers riding in either my Roadster or a Coupe I recently restored. So, I no longer have a use for a Fodor and I feel it's time for another family to enjoy it's roomy, smooth and safe ride! As you can see from the pictures posted, the Fordor has 4,132 miles on a completely rebuilt engine. Of the dozens of Model A Fords I have owned, built, restored, etc. this engine runs better than any I have driven in the past including my Coupe and Roadster! Also, after installing the manifold heater, seat belts and professionally rebuild shocks its truly a comfortable and a safe ride for parades, tours or just a Sunday afternoon outing.
Listed below are the improvements I have made from Cosmetic to Mechanical.
Cosmetic: All new sill plates installed New Lebaron Boney Carpet Bud Vase Fresh Garnish Molding Woodgraining Four new rear view mirrors
Electrical: All wiring harnesses replaced Rebuilt Horn Professionally Restored Alternator Restored Distributor Halogen Headlights Dual Tail Lights
Mechanical: Rebuilt Speedometer Four correct professionally restored shocks Restored Zenith Carburetor Professionally rebuilt steering sector (excellent steering) Completely rebuilt front end. Rebuilt Pittman arm, steering arms, new front spring and shackles All new clutch, pressure plate with balanced flywheel.
Also, notice the extra trunk cover, Bud Vase, disappearing rear seat armrest and window shades all standard options on the Town Sedan! If for any reason the trunk should not be needed the luggage rack holding it has also been restored with bright wooden slats. As you might imagine, older restorations (drivers) will have some of the expected knicks and small scratches in the paint however the fenders have been repainted recently and are in very nice condition. Also, there is a small crack at the bottom of the passenger window glass which is only seen when window is rolled in the up position. I have made a special effort to describe this Model A to my best ability. However, I always recommend any potential bidder to either visit Augusta, GA. for a closer look, test drive, etc or if possible send their representative who might live closer. I am very proud of the work I’ve put into the Fordor and very happy to show it off! Of course, I invite any and all questions. Please do not hesitate to contact me via ebay or cell phone (706-829-6466). Ask for Frank and I will probably bore you talking Model A’s! The State of Georgia does not issue a fancy (suitable for framing) paper title for vehicles over thirteen years old. Instead, they issue a Title Number printed on the Vehicle Registration. I will also include a Bill of Sale, either generic or one required by high bidder’s state of residence. It might be advisable to contact your State DOT for details. Some might require a simple inspection only to verify the VIN number.
A deposit of $500.00 via PayPal or overnight money order will be due 48 hours after auction ends. The balance must be paid by Certified Check within ten days. Buyer responsible for pick-up or transport. Vehicle will be sold “as is” No Warranty. I reserve the right to end this auction at any time since it is also offered for sale locally with several interested parties. Thanks for looking and again, all questions are welcome. Serious bidders only please! |
