Description of 1965 Ford Galaxie 500 |
This is a slammed Galaxie with bulleted details and ALL original, except for the best part...... It sports a balanced '66 Big Block 390 and C6 trans with a mild shift kit. Virtually everything mechanically has either been rebuilt or replaced. It is an absolute BEAST that rumbles and roars with complete build sheet. Thumbs up everywhere I go! No details were spared by a world famous speed shop in Sonoma CA to make this a sleeper that surprises new Mustangs. (Blue car is inspiration) Its entire life was spent in California until I shipped it to Atlanta recently. It's the first year of the stacked headlights, just like the GTO. I spent over $13k already and planning to redo the all original interior and paint next if no serious takers. It's a daily driver with only about a thousand miles on it since rebuilds. Could become a serious Rod, turn to a Rat, or one heck of a classic. Everything is there, you just determine the final look. I've already done all the expensive, hard work. A few vitals: - 390 FE Big Block - Hot tanked the block, sonic tested - 428 crank (410 Cubic Inches= BIG BALLS torque) - ARP main studs, head studs, rod bolts - Forged lightweight Icon pistons - Total Seal rings - Roller Rocker - Worked-over heads - Port machined intake manifold - Rebuilt C6 tranny with mild shift kit gets you down the road REAL fast - H-D sway bar - New shocks - Double-pot power steering - New belts - New ignition - New brakes - All signals and lights work - After market tach, oil pressure, temp gauges - White walls - Dropped it 5"= Real 'Old School' - All glass in great shape - New exhaust Needs: - New interior fabric and dash hood (all is there to build on) - New trunk pan (easily bought new on line) - Straight body except one dent in right rear quarter. Easily fixed because on flat panel - New rubber at windows - Paint - 2 small rust spots at base of doors (typical and easily cut out) (See Bad Ass Racing Engines and Crown Customs for more info. Both in San Francisco area.) |
