Description of 1932 Ford Other |
This roadster was found in Harrisburg Pa. in the early 80's. The car had been a hot rod in the 50's and after 3 decades of use and abuse, it rested in the corner of an old warehouse in the industrial district of the city. I wanted to rebuild the car as it would have been done during the 50's with period era parts, primer, and like it was done by a teenager. The parts and components used in it's rebirth are original Ford or aftermarket parts of the period. It has been featured in Street Rodder Magazine entitled "41 Day Wonder" and Hot Rod Deluxe, as well as other lesser publications. Here are the details of the car: Car was built in 1994 1932 Ford Roadster, original Henry steel body and chassis. 59AB motor completely rebuilt by Gettle Machine, Lebanon PA. Edelbrock aluminum heads Italmerchanica blower topped with Stromberg 97 carbs refurbished and installed by Ron SanGiovanni a.k.a. Ronnie Roadster, Wallingford Ct. Red's headers 40 Ford rear 39 Ford Transmission Dropped axle, 37 spindles, 40 Ford brakes all around. Steel rims 5 on 5 ½” b.c. 56 Ford truck steering Red & white tuck & rolled interior, Auto Upholstery of York County. Stewart Warner winged and period gauges, Sunn tach. Pontiac taillights Car runs smooth with plenty of power to spare. It handles very well and drives tight without shimmy or wandering. Motor runs cool in normal driving duties, but can overheat on extremely hot days or in prolonged idle without benefit of air.
