Description of 1963 Ford Galaxie |
1963 Galaxie Xl. fastback. I bought the car from the original owner. Still has original Georgia title and original bill of sale. It has been repainted sometime back in the 70's. All trim. chrome. etc is original. Never been washed underneath or detailed under the hood. Runs and drives good. It is an XL. 390 automatic. Power steering. power brakes. factory air(that works). bumper guards. clock. I had to replace the seat cover. door panels. headliner and carpet due to old age and from sitting around. I also replaced the water pump and radiator. rebuilt the carburetor. plugs. wires. cap. points. Starts right up and runs like a champ. The original hubcaps were missing when we purchased the car so we put a new set of Americans and BFG tires on it for that period correct look. Also has a new windshield in it. The only rust to be found on the car was in the front floor pans. Looks like the windshield was leaking at some point. These areas were cut out and replaced with new panels from Dennis Carpenters. The panels were installed correctly. not hacked up! Photos included of the new panels. The paint has chips. scratches and dings here and there. It has that original look to it. The chrome is showing its age but all the stainless and chrome is nice and straight. This is a great cruise night or Sunday drive car. It is not a show car. just a good. honest original car. It would be a very easy car to restore if that's what you prefer as its all there and all correct. Please don't hesitate to ask questions! Bid with confidence! |
