Description of 1950 Ford Other Crestliner |
The Ford CRESTLINER was created latein1950 season to counter lost sales due to the new General Motors 2-door hard top in all their product lines. It utilized the standard 2-door body, but was trimmed in a defining manner using windswept exterior trim separating contrasting colors. Stainless steel rocker panel trim, fender skirts andunique fullwheel covers were standard equipment. It also added a vinyl top trimmed by stainless steel.Stylized gold script on each fender identifies the vehicle as a Crestliner. Previously, only Presidential Limousines had vinyl top covering. The interior received chrome inside windshield trim surrounding a outside color coordinated dash divided by thin chrome trim. Centered in the dash trim wasthe Crestliner name in gold color. Carpet was standard. The headliner was a vinyl type material.
