Description of 1967 Ford F-250 Ranger |
Selling my 1967 F250 Ranger Camper Special. Prior to me, the truck had one previous owner (the original owner) who purchased the truck new in 1966 from Pearson Ford in downtown San Diego. This is not your average beat up run of the mill old F series truck, this 1967 San Diego was heavily optioned, with some very unique features. Starting with a 1971 factory installed 428PI crate motor and matching C6 transmission that was installed in 1971 by the dealership. This highly desirable and rare motor was installed using all FOMCO parts and is all factory spec retaining almost all of the OEM accesories. Engine has had a bunch of new parts added to make it more of a reliable daily driver, including an new 1406 Edlebrock carb (600CFM) with electronic choke, pertronix ignition and coil, new wires, distributor, starter motor, battery, relays and wiring. It starts first turn, drives smooth and runs nice and cool.... The motor is paired with a matching 1971 C-6 auto trans that was recently pulled, steam cleaned, completely disassembledand rebuilt and is under warranty. Included in the rebuild was the tail shaft, all shift linkages, new flex plate and of course all gaskets. In addition, I had all new driveshafts installed that were balanced before install, new bearing support and completely rebuilt rear differential to make sure all the power gets to the wheels. In addition to the drivetrain, truck has all new power brakes (cylinders, drums, pads, master cylinder, booster), power steering (new OEM steering box), has OEM factory AC (unit is complete but not hooked up at the moment), new radial tires (with warranty), new factory steel wheels and OEM hubcaps. Fuel tank was recently flushed and cleaned, added electronic fuel pump, new fuel lines and filters. Truck has full airbags on the rear and sits right and rides smooth. I am running full synthetics oils in engine and transmission and just recently had it tuned with all new plugs, wires, rotor and cap. Body is straight and tight, absolutely NO rust on this truck, it was in San Diego and the desert most of its life. Has a great patina with some light surface wear and thinning paint on roof and bed rails, very superficial but worth noting and it does add to the character. Has ALL of the original stainless trim is on truck including some optional pieces like the front bumperettes and a solid rear dock bumper (with tow hitch). Interior is in great shape with all knobs, trim intact and in good shape, paint is perfect, chrome is bright, carpet is so/so, seat is perfect, was just completely redone ($475) with new pad and cover and retained the OEM accents on it. Title is clean CA, in my name and in my possession along with original owners manuals, AC manual, Q care owner cards and all receipts for wok on the truck. I have all the original manuals, FOMCO books, AC manual and other misc books that go with it. Truck has original black plates and even has original 1967 decal on front plate and frame from Pearson Ford of San Diego... Truck can be a daily driver as it runs unreal or would be a great restoration candidate. |
