Description of 1968 Ford Mustang |
1968 MUSTANG FASTBACK FOR SALE! Maxlider Brothers Customsis an Illinois based shop focused solely on high end custom restoration and sales of the Ford Bronco and other rare Fords. With Mustangs & Broncos in their family since 1966, Erik & Kris Maxlider have always been passionate about these iconic vehicles. With over 20 years of dealership experience, Kris is the General Manager of the shop and is an ASE Certified Senior Master Ford Technician. Erik is the CEO and personally handles sales and customer management. We have 2 Senior Master Ford techs on the team, 2 professional builders, 1 fabricator and 2 apprentices, along with Keith Mortimer, a renowned Bronco body/paint expert. In this auction, we offer one of the most solid original metal Mustang Fastback rollers we have ever seen! This 1968 Fastback was discovered on the west coast and spent most of its time in Oregon/California. The metal on the body is very well preserved. NEW DRIVER DOOR IN BOX INCLUDED IN AUCTION!!! We searched for this roller for years before locating it out west. We were excited to have an incredibly rust-free Fastback begin our Coyote engine Mustang build, but we are very blessed at the shop with lots of clients who are keeping us so busy, we have decided to let it go to a new home. The only rust repair needing done is on the driver side floor pan...that's really it. The torque boxes are solid, the rear quarters are in excellent shape, the bottoms of doors are solid, the rear shock mounts are excellent and the front shock towers are awesome under the hood. The front fender is not original. A new tank was added (see trunk photo). The current door is dented, but I have a brand new door shell in the box ready to go and it will be included in the auction. Below is more info... ENGINE & TRANSMISSION: The 289 V8 was removed from the car and is NOT included. We do have a number of Ford engines available for purchase if interested outside the auction (302, 351W & 2011 Coyote 5.0L). This is a manual transmission vehicle and it was removed from the car and NOT included. BODY: The car was Wimbledon White from the factory and it looks to be that same color. The body is very straight besides driver door as mentioned above. The metal on this Mustang is fantastic and there will be very little metal work required before paint. INTERIOR: One of the reasons I picked this roller in the first place is the outstanding condition of the interior. AND, most of it is original! No damage and very clean...check out the photos! Even the headliner is in great shape. You could easily save thousands of dollars by keeping this interior. Simply paint and add the motor/trans...you could quickly have a running and driving Fastback. I have a few videos of under the car and a walk around if interested, please text me. WE WOULD LOVE TO RESTORE THIS MUSTANG FASTBACK FOR YOU!We could do a high-end custom build with a new 2015 Coyote 5.0L engine and add the transmission of your choice. Our award winning team can build the Mustang of your dreams...if you would like to talk through some options for a custom build, give us a call. Erik would constantly give me updates, and recommendations on what to do with certain problems that arose. He would give it to me straight, no B.S. And, the work is top quality. I am extremely pleased the way the Bronco turned out.If you are looking for a Bronco, from a show vehicle to a project, I would NOT hesitate recommending any of my family, friends,& acquaintances to seek one from Maxlider." - George C. of Michigan "We had a great experience finding the right father/son project Bronco with Erik. His knowledge, patience and honesty were greatly appreciated." - Scott S. of Illinois "Bestcar buying experience I've ever had.And most of it really was over text!Erikwalked me through three tiers of Broncos based on budget, amenities and overall condition. He coached me through my expectationsbased on my budget, askedvery specific questions to nail down my very vague request for a "daily driver." Erik tookgreat care in locating the right vehicle for me. He communicated often over text keeping me posted on his progress. Once we found the right vehicle thescariest part of thetransactionturned out to be the easiest. I wired money...and 6 days later Lucille was in my driveway...In Oregon." - Leah M. of OregonThis is a garage kept vehicle. |
