Description of 1926 Ford Model T Closed car. |
1926 Ford Model T Closed Car Coupe. This car is a complete car including the drivetrain. The motor turns over with the hand crank or the electric starter button on the floor inside the car. I included a picture of the coils because I had a man from the local Model T club rebuild the coils with new modern electronics inside and out. I have owned the car for two years. The previous owner had the car for twenty years stored in his garage with plans to refurbish the car. He didn't get to it and decided to sell it. He told me that he bought the car from a Shriners widow who didn't want to keep the car. This is why the car is red and white. The Shriner drove the car in the Shriner parades. The previous owner had the car running and said the motor ran well. I haven't had it running. To many other commitments have gotten in the way. I found the Shriner put a wooden dowel in one of the freeze plug holes which I removed. The only place I know that is rusted through is the rear panel behind the spare tire. This panel can be purchased from Lang's Model T parts store for approximately sixty-five dollars. I removed the battery to avoid corrosion. The passanger door handle is in the trunk. I purchased the car that way. The canvas top is missing but most of the wood is still there. The spokes are wooden. The car sits level but one back tire is not holding air (needs a new tube). The shade is still hanging in the rear window. The wooden floor boards are intact. All the glass is intact. I have the key and a clean Maryland title. This is a solid car and is primed to be on the road again with the attention and care it needs and deserves. A real life piece of American History! All steel and original car! If you have any questions call or text Jeff at 240-461-8802. The mileage is unknown as the Model T doesn't have an odometer. This time capsule is being sold as is. |
