Description of 1930 Ford Model A Rumble seat Roadster |
This beautiful Model A came from the estate of its owner, a 85 year old man who owned the car for about 40 years. It was restored in the early to mid 90', rust free and solid showing 82,000 miles on the chassis while the motor and trans were redone during the restoration. The high-quality restoration is holding up very nicely, The yellow body is still almost flawless with the occasional stone chip, the brown accent trim is flawless, the black fenders look great and are still shiny, however there is a little blemishes in a couple spots. I took pictures to show, its small, but to be honest I have to tell you about them, It's not rust, but it looks like some of the paint has a few bubbles in it. All the chrome and nickel is super shiny and looks great! Accessories include, wind wings, rear view mirrors, step plates, and dual taillights as a safety upgrade. Out front, there's a Boyce Moto-Meter "Quail" to monitor coolant temperature and the spare tire has a nice cover, The convertible top is in perfect condition and comes with a nice color matched boot cover. There are factory correct rubber matts in the interior and in the rumble seat floor area. The brown leatherette interior and rumble seat area are a duplicates of the original with wide pleats and plain door panels and are in great condition showing minimal signs of wear. The chrome instrument panel, brake lever and shifter shine nicely, as do all painted parts of the interior. All spoke wheels are true, with like new tires and tubes and are color matched to the brown trim. Mechanically it's all stock Model A; 40-horsepower 200 cubic inch inline-four and three speed manual transmission. The Model A feels quick on the road and will happily cruise at 45 MPH. This one has been rebuilt to spec. The only upgrade was in the electrical system; going from a generator to a 6V alternator. It fires quickly with just a little tweaking of the choke and settles into that instantly-recognizable Model A idle. The engine bay is pristine, no rust, leaks or dirt. The owner was very meticulous in his caring for this car. To sum up the car; it's a very nice, well kept driver that looks GREAT!. I would rate it an 8 out of 10. From five feet away it looks like a 10 out of 10. This is the real deal, all steel original Model A. Not a modified hot rod, or an 80's knockoff. Owned by a man who loved it and cherished it till the day he passed. I try to describe this car as accurate as possible; however it is recommended that the buyer inspect before purchasing, NOT after bidding. Please ask all questionsfirst.I'm open to discussing fair offers.
