Description of 1966 Ford Mustang K code GT & Pony Interior

Here for Auction is a genuine Factory GT, Hi Performance "K" code Mustang. Full restoration with every nut & bolt addressed. It's a local car with well known history. Before I describe the car, I would like to make mention of the Classic Car Market. To all that follow the trends, you know we have been in a minor "slump", which is traditional. If you have watched the results of the January Major Auction houses (Russo Steele, RM Sotheby's, Barrett-Jackson, Silver, Bonhams, Gooding,& Mecum) you have seen the turn has started. Prices are on the rise at all sites, especially for American Muscle Cars.I include this note for 2 reasons: 1 - just to point out a fact, 2 - I would like to sell for a true value. An opportunity for both Buyer and Seller.Description: First off, this is a genuine "K" code car. Still retains it's factory door data plate and has the original Factory vin stampings under the hood. It is listed in the K Code Registryand has NEVER left my State. I was told by the second owner (who passed away about 13 years ago), the Mustang was purchased new at Tasca Ford, 777 Taunton Ave., in E. Providence, R.I. The Factory warranty was very short. Ford knew what the motor was capable of and only stood behind them for3 months or 4000 miles. The engine in this car does not have a vin stamped on the side of the block, but it is a correct C5A-6015E casting number. Tasca Fordwas very involved in racing (and still is) so this motor may have been on the shelf, or maybe it was never stamped. I do notknow who the original owner was, so there is no way to trace it back to original buyer, butI can remember from mytime spent looking at the new 1965/66 Mustangsin East Providence watching Tasca install motors, transmissions overnight for customers. They had a complete crew working at night! All of the engine internals are believed to be correct, including the great sounding flat tappet camshaft, special exhaust manifolds and the very special cylinder heads with #19 stamped on the left and #21 stamped on the right. The valve springs pockets are cast in the head to prevent springs from moving and the rocker arm studs are screwed in to prevent pulling out at hi RPM's. The car has a new Holley carb. with a correct manual choke that works perfectly. All the other K code items are there including the dual point, centrifical advance, original distributor, 6 bolt bell housing, deep grove harmonic balance and alternator pulley, 4 blade cooling fan, etc. The engine appears brand new as I pulled a valve cover to check heads and it looks like zero miles. If it is an original motor,it isexceptionallyclean so I'm sure rebuilt. The motor performance is incredible without any leaks underneath. Exhaust note is correct and sounds just like a Hipo should sound! There are no issues with the drive train, from motor to the limited slip differential. Performance is exhilarating and responsive. (a great article to read is by Mark Houlahan, Tech Editor at Mustangs Monthly, under "Hi-Po Engine ID Guide-Mustangs Monthly Magazine 360". It states "as a matter of fact, the block had no discerning outward differences except that mosthad the vehicle's VIN stamped in the side of the block").The body was a bare metal, rotisserie work of perfection. Every panel lines up as it should, trunk, hood and doors open and close perfectly. Windows roll up and down with ease, all locks work, all lights work (including the dash lights and tail lights when fog lights are activated). Much attention to detail. The paint is base coat/clear coat that has been wet sanded, buffed and waxed and shows extremely well.I have checked to make sure this is real GT as there are some clones out there, and this is the real deal, right down to the reinforcement plates for the dual exhaust, fog light relay attached to wiper motor mount, 13/16" sway bar, 4 piston KH calipers with large master cylinder and proportioning valve, correct quick ratio steering box, etc.Even the hole in the dash for the fog light switch is egg shaped as was common for the GT's.
Everything on the caris as it should be and EVERY SINGLE ITEM WORKS AS IT SHOULD!No need to fix anything, really!I have plenty of pictures uploaded that can be viewed if you click your mouse on any of the larger pictures below to access a library of photos. You will find some comments and if you want to get a really close look, just click on the magnifying glass in the upper right corner. Please be patient while pictures load. This is the first time this car has ever been publicly offered so if you want one that hasn't been mistreated and still retains it's integrity, please consider this Mustang.
