Description of 1959 Ford Fairlane 500 |
This car was bought for restoring purposes. Honestly, there is not much to restore. The vehicle is a 4 door (very rare. Just search on ebay and you probably won't find one). Vehicle has very minimal rust if any. Intact windows, needs tires, driver side door closes, but needs a new latch to close, trunk closes but needs a latch. I'm honestly not sure if its a 4.8 but it is a v8. I will provide buyer a bill of sale. The vehicle has no lien so you won't have a hard time obtaining a blue title. The vehicle's engine runs but needs minimal tender love and care to actually drive it. You won't be disappointed. I get a lot of double takes from people admiring the beauty of the car. Especially the good condition. I might have missed some details, but please see pictures. If any questions arise, send me an email. Thanks, blessings. TheFord Fairlaneis anautomobilemodel that was sold between 1955 and 1970 byFordin North America. The name is derived fromHenry Ford's estate,Fair Lane, nearDearborn, Michigan. Over time, the name referred to a number of different cars in different classes; the Fairlane was initially a full-sized car, but became a mid-sized car from the 1962 model year. The mid-sized model spawned theAustralian-built Fairlanein 1967, although in that market it was considered a large car. For 1959, a new style gave a longer, wider, lower, and sleeker look with lowtailfins. The new proportions and modern styling were a hit with customers to the extent that the Ford outsold Chevrolet in 1957 for the first time since 1935.[3]A new top trim level was reversed, theFairlane 500. For the first time, the lower-level Custom line had a shorter wheelbase than the Fairlane. Engines were largely the same as the year before. The big news for 1957 was the introduction of theFairlane 500 Skylinerpowerretractable hardtop, whose solid top hinged and folded down into the trunk space at the touch of a button. |
