Description of 1970 Ford F-250 Ranger |
I have for auction a good running 1970 Ford Ranger F-250. When I purchased this truck I was told it had a 428. There is a rebuild tag from and reputable company from Spokane Washington. When I called and gave them the tag number they said it was no longer in their system so I measured the #1 piston at top dead center it measures 3.75 that measurement coincides with a 428 and a 390 so I am listing this truck as having the 390 with the possibility of a 428. The truck runs and sounds like it has a performance cam. I have only driven the truck around our 5 acres with a few small errands. The farthest I have driven the truck is the 60 miles home but I am positive it can be used as a daily driver. I purchased this truck to use for parts on another truck. It is in good enough condition that I decided not to take it apart because I thought that someone would enjoy driving it. Starts up every time. The only issues that I see with daily usage would be an exhaust leak on between the collector and exhaust manifold. The gaskets are approximately 5.00 each and you would need 2 of them. The oil pan gasket needs to be replaced which is approximately 20.00. The rear shocks seem to be a little bouncy. The price varies by quality for replacing the shocks. Even with these issues the truck can be driven everyday. Please if you are in the area come check out the truck before bidding. There is minor rust in this truck. The rust on this truck is a lot better than the average non-restored classic. One window doesn't roll down. There is an interior door handle missing. The doors open and close really nice. I have the title and bill of sale for this truck from the gentlemen I bought it from. I never switched it into my name because I was planning on disassembling it. We can go straight to the DMV to put it into your name or I can give you a notarized bill of sale from me. Below is a list of the new parts that I have installed and the parts that are good. I have been building cars and trucks professionally for 25 years. If you are interestedI can restore this truck for you. Email or text me with any questions about that. My contact information is listed below. New:
