Ford built only a handful of the 1971 Torino GT convertibles with a big block Cobra Jet. They are so rare you will probably never see one and if you had one you would never take it out. Too bad! This car represents the latest trend in the hobby car market. It starts with finding a great original car. This car still wears its original paint and body parts. I did not restore the bottom of the car and it is rust free. It has been updated with a 514 ci Cobra Jet motor from Ford Racing which has been coupled to a rebuilt ford top loader 4sp transmission with the correct long output shaft correct for Torinos. The original Ford 9" rear end has been rebuilt with a 3.50:1 positraction and beefier 31 spline Moser axles were added. The car came equipped with front disk brakes and power steering. The power top(black) works(it is tear free but needs window seals). I have the original window stick and build sheet. The interior is new, exhaust is new, tires are new, and a new Holley carburator was installed. It was a California car till 1998 which explains its great condition. I have a full owner history. The mechanicals were assembled by Mikes Classic Cars of Omaha,Nebraska who is well known for his big Ford restorations. Send me your cell number and I'll text you a video clip of it running. There is nothing like the sound a big block, it's a blast to drive. Please note the paint is original which makes it 46 years old. I didn't want to fix a thing especially where the paint has been rubbed off the top of the door where the driver would rest their arm. There are small imperfections throughout as you would expect. If you don't get it I probably won't be able to explain it. The crew at Mike's said they have never seen such a nice original car. Call me at 918 645 4543 for questions. $500 deposit due within 48 hrs of auction end by PayPal. Balance by wire transfer within 10 days. Call me first if your feedback is less than 10 or your bid will be cancelled and you will be blocked. I also have some extra's that I won't ship but if you come to pick it up you might consider: the original steel wheels and a good set of tires which came with the car(worth at least $500 if you had to go buy a set 5 14x7 factory ford steel wheels in perfect ready to drive condition), hub caps, bench seat ready to install if you would rather, and some misc dash items replaced. The trunk still has its original mat which has several cracks as expected, original spare and jack. there is also those cardboard panels that go on top of each fender well, both sides, still there. Have you ever seen that?
