Description of 1965 Ford Mustang |
A change in life circumstances has made me decide to sell my cherished weekend cruiser. Let my loss be your gain! Up for sale is my dream car, a 1965 Mustang Fastback that I have loved for the three years I've owned it. It runs and drives straight and great. Edelbrock 600 carburetor and intake manifold on a bored out 289 to make a 302 ci monster that puts smiles on everyone's faces, in and out of the car. Not for the faint of heart. What a head turner! I get comments and compliments constantly with this car, and you will too! I bought it in 2014 from a police officer here in Albuquerque who was the second owner. He and his father in law put in the majority of the restoration work, including boring out the original 289 to make it 302 (it has emblems to match, and I get comments that it's on 'steroids' from guys who notice the emblems all the time). It has lap belts installed in the rear seats, as well as hardware to allow for safely securing a child's car seat if needed or wanted. The police officer had twin girls that he took around in it when they were young, and he installed the hardware himself. I've invested thousands of dollars to fix/improve quite a few things on it over the years, including replacing the carburetor, having drum breaks professionally rebuilt all around including upgrade to dual master cylinder and appropriate distribution block, spring saddles, upper shaft kit, front springs, lower control arms, idler arm, strut rod bushings, 5 leaf rear springs, KYB rear shocks, power steering return line assembly, valve cover gaskets, and other basic filter changes, etc. Receipts were kept and will come with the car. Aftermarket oil pressure and temp gauges, and original fuel gauge, all work excellent. Inner door lights, headlights, dash light, and floor shifter light all work, as well as the CD player. My bank still holds a lien on the title, so arrangements for payment will need to be made through our banks, but I am familiar with this process and it can be done quickly and smoothly. There is some superficial damage to parts of the front end, from when one of the mechanics working on it didn't realize the breaks were as soft as they were and hit another car in their lot at about 3 mph. A very aggravating experience, but the damage is minimal and the frame is pristine. Easily repaired. I concentrated all my extra $$$ on fixing everything mechanical first before investing in the body work and paint, but it shouldn't take much to get this car looking perfect. Starts up easily every time. No surprises here. I want you to be as happy with this car as I am, so I've striven to list everything as accurately as I can, but please let me know if you have any questions and I'll do my best to answer them as quickly and as truthfully as I can. |
