1973 Ford F100 Custom
Up for bid is a 1973 Ford F100 Custom. Really just a "nice old truck". Arizona rust free and fairly original for a 44 year old vehicle.
Specifics:
Original 360 V8 (5.9) Odometer shows 127,500 but has more than likely been rebuilt some time in the past. I have no verification but truck is a strong runner. I rebuilt the original 2BB carb, updated to a Petronix electronic ignition and added a chrome dress kit. Has headers and a dual exhaust with new glass pacs. Radiator hoses and belts were replaced a year ago. The leak-free heavy duty radiator was flushed and refilled with new coolant. The thermostat was replaced.
Truck was originally a 3-Speed on the column. A prior owner converted it to a FMX Automatic out of a '65. The steering column and steering wheel were changed out with 1965 components. Looks good but not original.
This month I took out the FMX and installed a C6 (rebuilt by Blue Monkey Performance of Phoenix) and have all documentation. All universal joints were replaced as was the carrier bearing. It shifts quietly and smoothly. A new starter was also installed.
New tires on Bronco rims, new brakes all around with new front disc pads, new rear shoes and new rear wheel cylinders. The brake master cylinder and booster look to be fairly new.
New front shocks were installed with coil-overs on the rear for extra lift.
The bench seat was reupholstered in a light grey to match the door panels and overhead. A new Sony AM /FM /CD Stereo was installed and a new speaker box was installed behind the seat
Door jambs were repainted to match the red interior. I also painted the same color under the hood. New door seals were installed.
The truck has the original 19 gallon fuel tank in the rear but at 11 MPG I felt the need to carry more fuel on trips. I installed a secondary 16 gallon fuel tank under the bed. It now carries 35 gallons. An inline transfer switch was added and an original looking dash switch was mounted in the instrumentation panel. Fuel is added to the front tank through the lockable cross bed tool box in the bed.
Truck has an Under Dash Air Conditioning unit that is in good working order.
I have original parts that go with the truck upon sale. I have the original mirrors, mufflers, valve covers and air cleaner.
Paint is all that is left to do. I had intended to paint the truck to match the interior but thought perhaps someone might want to choose the color themselves. Truck has a nice patina but needs light bodywork to eliminate the parking lot dings. I told my wife that I would sell one of my "toys" to help pay off the new truck I purchased.
I'm not interested in any trades. No games please, don't bid unless you are prepared to purchase this vehicle. Contact me through E-Bay for any additional information. Upon the close of the auction, a $500.00 down payment (good faith money) is to be made. Full payment is to be made in the form of a major bank Cashiers Check within 3 days. Payment can be made in person if you are picking it up. Truck can be driven anywhere. Transportation is the responsibility of the buyer. I will make the truck available for loading. Truck is located in Avondale, Arizona just outside of Phoenix. It's just a nice old truck that gets a lot of attention when I have it out and about. It has the potential to be a show truck. Bid what you believe the truck to be worth, it is much better to start out with a good truck than a rusty bucket of bolts. I have done this more than a couple of times and now know better. Have fun bidding with no stress! |
