Description of 1940 Ford Other Pickups One Ton |
|||||
1940Ford One Ton Pickup Truck, very rare truck ingreatall originalcondition with original Flathead V8. This truck had been sittingin a barn since 1971.Very hard to find these 40-41 heavier Ford trucks with a pick up bed, especially as nice as this one. Only 30,324 miles on the odometer. Can help to arrange to ship anywhere for buyer. Selling with No Reserve to the highest bidder. Superb natural patina to thepaint.The majority ofthe original wooden bed floor is still intact. The doors and hood all line up great and open and close precisely like they should. All four of the veryhard to find 'V8'hub caps are still present. There isvery littlerust withvery solid floorboards. There is alittle in the bed sides but it is very minimal and would be very easily repaired as it is just flat steel. There are a few typical farm use dents to the fenders and running boards but far better than most of these original un-restored farm trucks. The wood side panels added to the bed sides look to be as old as the truck but are in remarkable condition considering. The interior is complete and the dashboard is in good condition for its age. The steering wheel center has the same Ford 'V8' emblem as the hub caps. The seat will definitely need re-upholstering.It has not ran or been driven sinceit was parkedin 1971 and the original Flathead V8 will not turn by hand, I tried. Expect this motor to need more than just a tune up and new battery to get running, the last time it was started Elvis Presley was still alive. But it is complete and nothing is missing. The brakes are not stuck at all and it rolls very freely although the two rear tires are in bad shape and will not hold air but the front two do hold air. All ofthe glass is in good shape and free of cracks. Overall this is one ofthe most original trucks of this generation that you will find and it is really in great time warp condition for a farm truck that is 77 years old. It is exactly as Henry Ford built it and the perfect basis for a restoration. These heavier 40-41 Ford trucks are very hard to find with a pick-up bed and are quite unique with their different styling to the Half Ton trucks of those years. The process is very straightforward and stress free when dealing with domestic vehicles over 25 years old. who we are and what we do We are two brothersthat seek out original trucks and cars fromall acrossCanada specializing in vehicles from the 40s, 50s and 60s. We started heading North to source these vehicles several years ago due to the severe lack of such vehicles in the US in recent times due to our huge car culture. Most American barn finds have long been found and tampered with by several owners yet North of the border there still seems to be an abundance of good solid original vehicles waiting to be brought back to life. We make these great vehicles available to the US market by importing them into the US and providing all required paperwork to acquire a Clear US Title in your own name in your home State. We also specialize insourcing Mercuryand Fargo trucks and have successfully imported and found new homes for dozens of fine original examples. We are passionate about finding the best thatthere is and understand that our customers want to see automobiles that have not been tampered with; the more original, the better. Our inventory is regularly updated, as new finds are unearthed. If there is something specific that you are looking for, then let us know and we'd be happy to see if we can help. The business we conduct is straightforward and honest.
