1913 FORD SPEEDSTER FRONTENAC Speedster is a built car completed in 1996 usuing all old car parts.Speedster is titled as a1926 FORD touring. Has a 1926 chassis and running gear. Many 1913 FORD parts were used for the build like the brass radiator . all the lights the fenders steering column and rear deck are 1913. Much brass was used on speedster like the wind shield frame and other pieces of trim. Much of the brass was handmade. Cowl is made of 3/4 inch cherry boards. Seat is from an American La France fire truck upholstery is 1913 ford roadster. Gas tank is dodge. Chassis is 1926 ford with a Z section at the rear for lowering. Front end is model A ford dropped axel this was done for a stronger front end. Steering is a fore and aft unit of some type. Engine is 1926 ford with a model A crankshaft and rods over bore .030.That gives a stroker engine of about 190 cubic inches. Camshaft is a 1932 ford B grind high lift along with improved oiling in engine. Engine runs a FRONTINAC over head 8 valve head with a down draft carburetor and header exhaust with 2 inch pipe out the back of car. volkswagon converted distributer water pump. WARFORD 3 speed over drive transmission RUCKSTELL 2 speed rear converted to ball bearings with rocky mountian brakes. 1926 1927 FORD wire wheels with simulated knock off caps. The only reproduction parts used on car are the step plates motor meter mirror and the emblems on the hubcaps. Top hood was made in a sheet metal shop. No fiberglass used in build.
