This Ford F-Series, 385 engine was Ford's final big block V8 design, famous for its strength and reliability. The 385, which got its name from its 3.85 inch crankshaft stroke, was truly one of the best engine designs around. Unfortunately, the gov't wanted to shut down these great designs because they were looking to conserve gasoline back in the 1980's. This engine is/was frequently sought out for a variety of applications, including in RV's, marine applications, police cruisers, auto racing, heavy duty towing, and as a starting point for dragster building. This vehicle is a rarity because of care its previous owner took to keep it in peak running condition. "They" truly don't make 'em like this anymore.
