Description of 1972 Ford Ranchero |
This auction for one 1972 Ford Ranchero, running and driving. Selling because priority are now my loving parents, there is no story here, I just don’t have time. The Arizona car from factory as in 1972, was a 351 2V “H” code, automatic trans, with buckets, floor shifter, & console and factory in dash AC, with all proper factory gauges (TACH, etc). This 351 engine set up is available for an extra $1800.00,OBO, above final sale price, and is NOT included in the final auction price. The engine will be sold separately and is running condition, (needing a distributor only, clean, no leaks, looks rebuilt, and we have a video installed running and driving, seems there is some type of cam from the idle sound, but have no information on this engine. (FYI-several questions on the engine availability, so have decided that if the reserve is met the engine WILL BE INCLUDED, in the final auction price. thank you. VIN vehicle information: 2 A 48 H 113xxx (ranchero 500?) Present day conditio, currently has a modern day 2003 DOHC 4.6 GT mustang cobra motor, with about 330hp or whatever stock HP was for those Cobra mustangs, it does not have chips or programmer, but does have the matching 4 speed auto overdrive transmission, perfectly installed. So you can use the existing installed engine or re-install the 351, to your desired wish, restoration, etc. The DOHC install is complete where the car runs and drives, brakes work, with the matching auto 4 speed transmission that shifts as it should, and is coupled to the factory floor shifter. The AC needs final connections, and from the cobra factory long tube headers a professionally installed exhaust is complete (nice sound not too loud). Mechanical needs: supercharger? Chips, programmers, engine overhaul, is all up to you, and suggest a final engine bay cleanup, as far as the wires, and just tiding things up, for neatness. Interior needs, all complete but cleaning, with some assembly of door parts, or a new install of all soft parts, seat covers etc. Exterior needs, the car was painted but then neglected, in the present photos nothing was cleaned, so that one can see dust, dead leaves, etc didn’t want to mis-represent anything as this is not a show car or restored, where now paint shows sun faded, and the front panel parts are not faded too much, because they were not on the car until recently, hood is open in all the photos, but does close, all panels are original no rust or any repairs, panels and alignment amazing for a 72, doors close perfectly, the front bumper is nice driver condition and is included as is the grill and molding for the grill, just not installed. Will needs some nuts and bolts as I can’t find them….. so the nuts & bolts are NOT included in this action for grill and bumper. The back deck is clean with no through rust, just some surface discoloration, as seen in the photos. The exterior paint might buff back, but really not sure, so plan on driving as is in flat, faded condition, or painting to your color. The tires and wheel rims are NOT included, I bought them new and don’t expect to get my money back so keeping them for now. There are Steel wheels and tires that will make the car drive / roll onto a trailer or transporter. I DO NOT recommend driving any long distances until you get to know the car, wiring, and things you need to know for road worthiness on this DOHC motor, and safety wise…. Expected questions: Title: clean Arizona clear status title, mileage reads 145000, “A” for actual ? which we can’t verify . Miles on the car chassis, DOHC or 351 engine: all unknown Accidents: does not appear to ever been in one, all original metal with no apparent repair prior to paint Rust: AZ car, none AC: needs hoses, compressor, hardware etc & Freon Wheels / spinners: not included, not for sale 351 4V engine: not included, but is available for extra $$$ (has the 4. (dot) on the heads) with matching auto transmission, where we have a video showing it running.
