This Y-Code Thunderbird Sport Roadster was produced on April 12, 1962 at the Ford Wixom, Michigan plant. This was one of just 1,427 factory Sport Roadsters produced in 1962. It was delivered to the Seattle distributor and has remained a rust-free, Pacific Northwest car its entire life. Approximately 10 years ago it received a full nut-and-bolt restoration to show level. Stripped and repainted in original correct code J "Rangoon Red." Beautiful finish with a deep shine. Excellent fiberglass tonneau. All chrome and trim was replated. Correct Kelsey-Hayes wire wheels. New white vinyl top. Power top mechanism rebuilt and works smooth and fast. Power windows and power seat rebuilt. Reupholstered in correct code 84 Light Pearl Beige leather and trim. Interior trim replated. Instruments rebuilt. AM radio rebuilt. Everything was done to bring this car back to showroom condition. The original 390 cubic inch, 340 horsepower V8 engine was rebuilt, along with the "Cruise-o-Matic" automatic transmission. Runs smooth and strong with great power. Correctly detailed under the hood.
