Description of 1979 Ford Bronco Ranger XLT

Up for auction in my 1979 Ford Bronco Ranger XLT with 52,709 original miles which I purchased from the original owner in February 2017. This Bronco is about as pure as you will find. It has original paint, immaculate interior, original drivetrain and original wheels. With exception of rust above the rear wheels the Bronco is in very nice original condition. I have the original title, purchase order, warranty book, 2 build sheets and owners manual. The original owner could not find the original title at time of purchase and had a new one issued and found the original afterwards is why I still have it. The Bronco is currently registered and titled in my name with no liens.
  • Exterior: Per original owner and from what I can tell, the paint is completely original except one spot on drivers side front fender which looks to have had a repair at some point. The body is very nice with exception of rust in rear quarter panels above rear wheels which is pictured. The fenders, doors, rockers, floors are all rust free with no more than surface rust if any. The tailgate is nice but has surface rust along lower lip but is still solid. The removable top is very nice and near positive it has never been removed. The frame has surface rust but is solid.
  • Interior: The interior is immaculate. The seats are like new and do not have any tears, stains or any damage. The carpet is nice inboth the passenger and cargo area. The dash is uncut and original and pad does not have any cracks. The gauges all work with exception of temperature. The floor mats look like they are the originals.
  • Drivetrain: Still has original drivetrain including 351 V8 motor, automatic transmission and differentials. It runs very smooth and strong and does not smoke. It is as pure under the hood as you will ever find. It evenstill has the 1979 date coded spark plug wires! I changed the oil & filter, coolant, radiator hoses, radiator cap and fuel filter since the Bronco had not been driven very frequently for quite some time. I would still recommend having a mechanic give it athorough checkout before taking on a long trip as a precaution since it had set so long and I have not driven it over 30 miles since purchasing. I have several classic vehicles and don't get the opportunity to drive any very far due to ademanding work schedule.
  • Suspension: The suspension is original and has not been modified. It has the quad shocks.
  • Trim & Chrome: The trim and chrome are very nice including bumpers and moldings.
  • Wheels & Tires: Still has the original wheels and tires show little wear. Has original spare, with original cover and factory lock.
  • Glass: The glass is all nice. The windshield has had a chip filled in center. The power back glass worked until today and now motor works but won't engage to move glass up or down. Not sure what happened and had to help it up to close.
This is about as goodof a original 1979 Bronco for a restoration you will ever find with original documents. No need to restore interior, find a bunch of chrome or track down original drivetrain components. Other than replacing the rear quarters the body needs very little. Luckily full rear quarters are available for a very reasonable price.
Please remember this a 38 year old vehicle and be realistic withexpectations since it is original and not a perfect restored vehicle and does need some work but priced accordingly. You are encouraged to inspect the Bronco by appointment prior to bidding. It is stored in my garage at my home and can provide additional details if you need them. Please ask all questions prior to bidding. The buyer is responsible for all shipping costs and arrangements but I will cooperate with your shipper to get it picked up.
