Description of 1971 Ford Mustang |
This is a project that was started but not finished because of lack of funds and I have no desire to do anything to it. Here isthe info I received. Engine according to looks appears to be a 351C with aaluminum 4bbl intake. They supposedly rebuilt this engine, new distributor, starter relay etc ect please refer to pictures and make sure you look at the picturesof the head. I tried my best to get casting number from block bystarter but with the headers in they way I couldn't so I pulled the left side valve cover off and the numbers are there. I think the numbers are OE25 but I maybe wrong. If someone wants to let me know otherwise I would be pleased to update listing. Please notice how clean the heads are. Now someone might have redone the heads and lapped them on but I can't believe someone would do this butsomeone is out there. The valve covers have 8 bolts, valve cover is squared and does have a raised portion on them. The upper hose goes into the block and the timing chain cover is just a flat piece of metal making the timing gears inside the casting. The trans is a automatic of which type I don't know C5 C6 ?? again if anyone can give me some intel I would update listing. The rear end looks like a 9 inch to me but you look at pictures and if someone can educate me I would change listing but it is not a round helmet type it does have a raised portion for the ring and pinion. I'm not going to guarantee the type of motor, trans or rear end size or year so please ask question I will be more than happy to do some research. OK now onto body the good the bad the ugly. Floors, trunk floor, quarters tail panel are junk they need new if you are going to keep this vehicle. Myself I would look for another rear clip. Someone did a 1980 patchwork on the floors with a sign O the good old days. The doors are there but are loose at bottom seam ?? The fenders seems to be ok the left one was not attached at the bottom and I was able to look at inside of that fender. The right I tapped and sounds all metal with no visible patching. The hood needs help around the hinges. I spayed them with WD40 to keep from bending. No trim around windows all glass is there and seems to be solid around them. Interior dash is OK along with the original seats that seams to be recovered at one time because they are not torn or ripped again please look at photos if you need more specific let me know. The drivers seat rear panel became unattached from sitting I guess. I did not look at gauges to see what packaged it had but being a F code there probable is no tack etc. Brake job was done to front with new hoses etc and the are power disc. It looks like they might have put a master cylinder on. Frame looks solid The gas tank and sending unit appears to be new and dry never filled. I'm not representing this vehicle by year, engine, trans or rearend because I really don't know my Fords but I think the pictures tell the story and that's how I'm selling it by the pictures with no guarantee or warranty SOLD AS IS BU THE PICTURES. COMES WITH CLEAN VIRGINIA TITLE IN HAND PLease look at old school aluminum dish wheels uni-lug but the backs are deep dish and fronts are regular. I will try to get measurement latter but the backs look like 8inch if not deeper |
