Description of 1964 Ford Galaxie |
1964 Ford Galaxie Country Sedan station wagon. I spent a long time to find the right wagon but now I've got to let it go. This is an exceptional example. Factory Z code 390 300HP with 3 speed/overdrive transmission. Mostly detailed engine compartment but could use a little more. Just had carburetor rebuilt and Pertronix ignition installed. New battery. cap. rotor. wires. etc. Runs great. No smoke at all. No leaks either. Transmission shifts fine but has a small leak. Overdrive doesn't always work though. Interior is near mint with no rips or tears anywhere. Original plastic is still on the rear seat. Fronts were on but dried up. Dash has no cracks. Headliner is perfect. Rear compartment is excellent. Some dash lights not working . Everything else works. Has aftermarket Tachometer and oil pressure guage. There is no rust on this car. Body has 80% original vintage burgundy paint. There are a few areas where someone did small repairs and did not do very nice blend job. Right front hood. both door front tops (had mirror holes) and a few places on the right side were redone. I placed a magnet on every panel and couldn't find any filler. Car starts. runs. drives and stops fine although it just started pulling to the right when braking. Needs adjusted. Updated 15" steel wheels with dog dish caps. This was used by legendary race photographer. Lloyd King to travel to the races. He and his wife towed a trailer. It was also in the Eastern Pennsylvania Race Museum for some time. Wagons are hot right now. To find one with this kind of history is exceptional. Hate to let go. Call Kevin in Texas. 214-693-2540.
