Description of 1961 Ford F-100 Unibody |
F100 Unibody, former California farm truck with what appears to be under 13,000 miles! ALTHOUGH I HAVE NO WAY TO CONFIRM THIS. Numbers matching motor was pulled and inspected with like new internals. All gaskets and seals replaced and motor got a highly detailed paint job before reinstallation. Vintage 1959 Fairlane side mount air cleaner added during motor rehab. GM one wire alternator and dual master cylinder conversion updates were also made.Petronics electronic ignition module addded to replace points and condenser. TRANSMISSION was converted from column 3-speed to a vintage Hurst Indy floor shifter. A 50's style Motorola microphone was then added as a shift knob that lights up with ignition. SUSPENSION has been completely replaced. New correct load rated leaf springs with a 3'" drop front and rear. New gas filled shocks on all 4 corners. All new front end goodies including tie rod. All new brakes and lines to go with new dual master cylinder. New fuel pump, carburetor, and aluminum gas tank under bed with filler through bed floor. EZ WIRE harness with 21 circuits. New halogen headlights, new reproduction tail and parking lights. Third brake light consists of red fish eye over rear window and lighted vintage Coke bottle coming out of original gas filler hole. BODY appears to of had a aggressive sanding in an aborted ameteur restoration attempt, truck then sat for god knows how long baking in the California sun. With that kind of patina I just had to preserve it. Body was hand blocked with 320 grit as to not remove too much patina, then give 5 coats of matte clear finish. Tailgate was missing so I installed a new reproduction piece and left it in raw steel to let it age. Front bumper is new, grille was sandblasted and painted along with bumper in satin ivory. BED is done in AZEK decking that has been stained black and coated with polyurethane. AZEK sleepers were through bolted to original steel bed. Completed pieces were then meticulously drilled, countersunk and fastened to sleepers with stainless screws. Bed sides were made from 1/2" AZEK panels and painted in gloss "Ocean Mist" green. They were then fastened to original bed with stainless screws. 2 access doors were installed in sides to store your soda, beer, or car care products. WHEELS are original and have been sand blasted and finished in gloss "Ocean Mist" green. Tires are Coker Classic wide whitewall radials. INTERIOR is a work of art! After gutting it the floors were found to be in perfect shape. They were then sanded and painted with red oxide primer. All glass and seals were removed. Interior was sanded, primed and painted in gloss "Ocean Mist" green. Doors and dash were highlighted with "Satin Ivory" inserts. Door panels, toe kick panels and areas behind seat were covered in tropical fabric to compliment paint scheme. All door internals, glass fuzzies, vent window frames and glass rubber are new. All glass has been replaced with green tinted glass except vent windows. Seat was custom designed using aqua pleated inserts, ivory field and dark blue piping. Alpine stereo head unit with CD and USB port. Defroster ports on dash hide Memphis co-axel loud speakers. JBL 6" loudspeakers and tweeters are in wall behind seat. Additional power port for devices on dash.Aftermarket heater installed under glove box. Floor mat is a factory reproduction with custom hand tooled aluminum step trims. BUILD photos are available upon request. Photos are taken daily in my shop and this was a 18 month build, so you can imagine how many pictures I have.
