Description of 1966 Ford F-250 |
Up for sale is a 1966 F-100/F-250. First and foremost this is a '66 F-100 cab on a shortened 3/4 ton frame with an aluminum flatbed. I bought it out of Pittsburgh from the original owner/builder needing a lot of work before being roadworthy. It's been my personal truck for about 2 years now with only about a year and a half of that being driven after all the necessary work was done to get it on the road. I mainly used it to pull my 22' Car Trailer. It has a '99 7.3L Powerstroke mated to an E4OD/4R100 automatic transmission. Currently has 29k miles on the truck(since it was built) although the title says 200k. I was told that the frame is from a '97 F-250 along with the front and rear axles. I am unsure of the mileage on the engine but it runs great. The transmission was just rebuilt about 100 miles ago. It also has a current PA State Inspection that is good through June 2018. Tires are in good shape with around half tread left on each corner. As far as the interior goes I am not sure what all is original from the '66 cab but it has a custom Autometer gauge setup instead of the factory '66 gauges. Gauges are as follows from left to right: Pyrometer, Water Temp, Oil Pressure, Speedometer/Odometer, Fuel Level, Voltmeter, and Boost Pressure. Also has a PTO display under the dash that has a Tachometer built in. The seat is a bench style from a 90's model Ford pickup and the radio is also from a 90's Ford. I also installed a new pigtail for the trailer brake controller(not included). The cab will need the most work being that the roof has surface rust and the paint is starting to peel in several places. Overall the cab is still pretty solid for it's age. The front of the truck has a factory Ford Grill Guard which is in very good shape and also on the front bumper is a custom stainless steel step that folds for easier access to the engine bay. The bed is in decent shape also housing the dual battery setup in a stainless steel container in the front and the rear left corner has the fuel filler. It also has a small storage compartment on each side of the bed for more space. The rear of the truck has a Class 3 Receiver along with a 7-pin trailer socket.
