Fully electric 1981 Ford Escort. I think this car may have been a Ford electric prototype. The gasoline engine was replaced with a 50 HP electric motor and mated to the manual transmission. It is a very clean car with only 20,608 miles on it. I bought it from a gentleman who drove it for some time and was going to upgrade the lead acid batteries and had something come up so he had to sell it. I bought it without the batteries with the intention of replacing them with either nickel metal hydride batteries or lithium batteries. It has been one of those projects I keep wanting to get to but never have time so I am selling it to make more room for some of my other projects. My loss is your gain, this is a very unique car and with some new batteries could be up and running pretty quick. The under-body was undercoated in the past and is very clean. The paint is a bit faded, but I think a good buffing would get it looking near new. No significant dings or dents and only 2 spots of very minor rust showing in the paint...I took closeup pictures of these areas and included them (they are the last 2 pictures). I never thought I would see a car this age look as nice as this one, and it is electric on top of that. I am willing to help arrange shipping to anywhere in the lower 48 states. You may also come pick it up if you would like.
