Description of 1966 Ford F-100 Custom Cab |
Very clean and original survivor truck! Everything works as it should including the radio! Originally sold at Dan Stanley Ford in Joplin, Missouri in 1966 and remained with the original owner for many years. The previous owner bought it from the man who purchased it from Johnson Auto Sales in Joplin, Missouri (dealer emblem remains on truck). He purchased it in July, 2008 and it was apparent it had always been respectfully cared for and well maintained.I bought it from him in August or 2016. 57,648 original miles (it had 45,009 when previous owner bought in 2008 ).Although, I cannot document - I believe this to be true and it is evidenced based on the condition of the body, engine, brake pedal wear and various clues found on the truck.Original engine - 352 cu. in. V8 - Numbers matching. Cruise-A-Matic 4 speed automatic transmission. Twin-I-Beam suspension. Custom Cab - which includes:chrome front and rear bumpers, aluminum bright work along the sides, badging, aluminum grille, bright windshield moldings, LS and RS padded arm rests, cigarette lighter, two-tone paint, LS and RS outside mirrors, AM radio and antenna, padded dash, padded visors, full foam cushion seat, seat belts, LS door vinyl zippered storage compartment, headliner with bright moldings, two-speed electric wipers, dual electric horns, voltage gauge, oil pressure gauge, bright metal hub caps and side-mounted spare tire carrier. Working Factory Ford Rotunda Air Conditioning that blows cold! The only significant rust on the truck is behind the front bumper as pictured. The paint must have been redone at one time and has its share of small dings and chips but from 6 feet looks shiny and clean. Previous owner's maintenance records: Oil change and complete lube each spring (about every 1400 miles). P225/75R15 white wall tires - $562.87 (receipt included). Replaced king pins and bushings on both sides - $488.42 (receipt included). Replaced voltage regulator and pigtail - $225.93 (receipt included). Had transmission rebuilt - Reman Cruise-A-Matic, Reman Fo12 torque converter, fly wheel, band and added transmission cooler - $2,370.34 (receipt included). Complete tune up - Spark plugs, wires, fuel filter, gas gauge sending unit, etc. - $443.20 (receipt included). Replaced both mufflers, starter relay, brake pads, etc. - $830.40 (receipt included). New alternator and other misc. parts - $282.96 (receipt included). Valve Job - Resurface exhaust manifolds, 8 exhaust valves, 8 intake valves, 8 exhaust seats, 16 valve springs, removed, resurfaced, and replaced cylinder heads, new manifold studs, replaced fuel lines, lifters, general tune up and carburetor adjustment, sand blasted all upper engine parts and repainted with correct Ford blue - $3,176.86 (receipt included). New battery - (June 2016) - $110.62 (receipt included). Since my purchase in 2016, I have had an engine out reseal which included all new gaskets, new rear main seal, new timing gear set, water pump, alternator, starter, heater core, trans mount, and painted the block. Appx $3200 (receipt included) Ford Factory Shop Repair manuals included. I also added new valve covers & gaskets, new headers and mufflers, rebuilt the carb, replaced badges, and had the paint professionally detailed. This is a very clean, original appearance truck that you wont be afraid to drive and park. Thumbs up from people every time I drive it. Please feel free to ask questions or request add'l photos as I have many more including underside. |
