Description of 1941 Ford Other Pickups |
1941 Ford Pickup Truck Resto-Rod. The beneficiary of a show-quality, ground-up restoration on an all original Ford steel body (tub, fenders, hood, and bed sides). All work professionally performed by highly experienced craftsmen with many national-level concours wins to their name. BODYWORK/TRIM This stunning trucks solid Ford steel body began life as a preservation-class contender out of Northern California. During the detailed, frame-off restoration, the old school metal was stripped, prepped and layered in Ford Cloudmist Gray, followed by countless hours of wet-sanding and polishing to a perfectly smooth sheen. Upon mating the body to the equally well prepared chassis, all trim was either re-chromed or replaced with new items, including polished stainless steel front and rear bumpers, and new rubber and felt seals throughout. 1940 year model hood trim was fitted for its understated look, and the tailgate emblem was expertly hand-painted in Ford Blue to complete the transformation. MECHANICAL Lift the hood and you'll find 350 cubic inches of durable Chevy small block that mixes first-class looks with first-rate functionality. Behind the stout 350, a Turbo Hydramatic 350 automatic transmission twists power to a Ford 9-inch rear axel fitted with road-ready gears. Working in tandem with the drive-train is a completely rebuilt suspension that combines traditional leaf springs behind a Mustang II front-clip, and power front disc and rear drum brakes for powerful, drama-free stops. Torque meets the pavement via chromed and painted steelies fitted with 195/65R/15 front, and 225/75/R/15 rear blackwalls. INTERIOR Open the doors and a tasteful custom interior features an original style bench seat expertly trimmed in the finest black leather hides, and flanked by matching leather door panels, and a sound deadened floor covered in custom fitted Wilton-wool carpeting. The body colored dash features a beautifully restored original gauge cluster with the subtle addition of directional indicator lights. The restored steering wheel is attached to a custom steering column with integrated shift lever, and minimal aluminum dashboard knobs control lights, wipers, and heat. Traditional style lap belts are fitted for safety. This ultra classy Ford truck combines the original pre-war lines that are coveted by collectors, with an ultra-high quality build, to produce a slammed and cammed, yet understated Resto-Rod that is both show-ready and endearing to drive. Just 75 test-miles since completion in March 2017. Located in Aptos, CA on HWY 1, just 25 minutes North of Monterey, and a 40 minute drive from San Jose International Airport. |
