Ford introduced the When Ford introduced the Ford Mustang in 1964 an instant love affair with the American Pony Car was born. The Mustang was smaller lighter and more nimble that any American manufacturer had produced thus far. This coupled with its fresh design the Ford Mustang became a must have among the American public. GR Auto Gallery is proud to present this unrestored 1966 Ford Mustang GT for your consideration! A very special model the GT was on the high end of the Mustang range and f...eatured a powerful 289cid V8 with four valves per cylinder. The engine produced 225hp and was part of the GT equipment package. In the interior the GT option added a different instrument panel that included a speedometer fuel gauge temp. gauge oil pressure gauge and ammeter in five round dials. This car also has the Interior Decor Group which included embossed running ponies on the seat fronts integral armrests woodgrain appliqué accents and a round gauge cluster. The car also was equipped with the optional sun visors. This 1966 has been with the current owner since 1986 and was originally sold in California. It has been kept indoors and is in relatively good shape. The car was originally white from the factory but was professionally repainted some time ago. There is no overspray and all the kickplates and other internal body panels have been painted as well. The paint itself is far from perfect but has a very nice patina to it. The chrome is in nice shape as well as the glass and the car has the factory wire knock off wheels The convertible top is in nice shape and fits well apart from a fogged rear plastic window. The interior is in good shape with a crack free dash and rip and stain free seats. The carpet is intact and the trim and instrumentation looks good as well. The car has been well maintained mechanically and has rebuilt power steering replaced heater core new radiator radio installed and hydraulic work completed. Apart from the paint this is an all original car that runs well and is either begging to be driven or treated to a full restoration.
