1954 Ford Crestline Victoria NOM - 302 V8 Engine C4 Automatic Transmission Dana 44 Rear End Power Steering Power Disc Brakes Bucket Seats Slotted Wheels + More
This is one of the best looking early 50's Ford design in my opinion, it's clean lines are what draws me to it. The car was purchased for the son to use shop class to learn about cars, after a semester or two he embraced physics so the car is not in the future for him anymore. They bought the car with much of the work done and worked on maintaining and replacing a few items. This body is pretty clean, I saw a little rust in the front part of the rear wheel houses where they meet the quarters but nothing that would require any panels to be replaced. The trunk floor, spare tire well and extensions are clean. The front floor pans were repaired by cutting out the rust and new metal welded in. Front fender dog legs look solid as well. There appear to be a few dings that were repaired some years ago and are cracking in those spots. I'm not sure how but a small repair will be needed on the back corner of the hood, maybe it got dropped when doing the engine swap. The car was painted a flat black, a Rat Rod or Rockabilly appearance but it was a few years back so it has a couple of touch ups. The trim looks to be almost complete, it's in the trunk. The pot metal trim is lightly pitted and chrome faded but the stainless looks decent. Someone added side markers at one time, it has custom headlights and not sure about tail lights. The interior has been upgraded to bucket seats, it has a matching rear seat and headliner. The carpet looks good but we didn't get a chance to clean it before taking pictures. The bucket seats appear to be from a 67 Mustang, if I'm not mistaken. The shifter is also Mustang. The dash is stock except it was cut out for a modern stereo at one time. The factory gauges are present and it has a tach and temp gauges added. it was also upgraded to turn signals and seat belts. It has a custom steering wheel but there might be a way to shorten the adapter. Overall the interior needs just a little touchup on the kick panels but very presentable. The engine and transmission were used when installed and probably came from the same Mustang as the seats and there is no idea of miles. The power brakes also look mustang as do the 12V electrical items. Cooling was upgraded with an aluminum radiator and a custom shroud was made to fit. It drives good, he drove it over 100 miles in several trips just days before driving 45+ miles to bring it to my shop to sell. I drove it, it starts right up, shifts into gear with no delay and shift like a good Ford should. There aren't any ticks or rattles when starting from a night of sitting. The power steering was a little heavier than a Mustang but I liked the feel. The brakes stopped it well and it tracks down the road pretty good. it had a small trans leak after sitting overnight and it looks like the pan gasket. The starter gets hot and you have to wait about 15 minutes after driving it a while, it just needs a bendix or replace the starter. The rear end appears to be a 8.5" Dana 44, probably from a 55-56 T-Bird for the right width. It does look to have been worked on or maybe they just cleaned and painted but the ID tag was put back in it's place. I might have missed a few things but I try to be thorough. This is a really cool car, you can enjoy just as it is and a lot of time/money went into making a more modern driver. The car could be taken back to original appearance if someone wanted to. The next step is up to you! There is no Buy-It-Now, your welcome to make an offer the owner can think about. There is no interest in any trades, he's got everything else he needs. The reserve is in line with other cars of the same caliber. I welcome inspections, the car is at my shop in Fresno, CA and can be viewed by appointment. The winning bidder will receive clear title CA title for the car, the registration is all current also. I can assist with arranging shipping to your location or make recommendations for shipping, of course it can be picked up in person after we have received funds. |
