1949 FORD 1-TON F3 PICKUP TRUCK This is a very clean original 1949 ford survivor. I've owned this for a couple years and intended on keeping it for a daily driver. I have to many projects so I'm thinning them down. The body on this is exceptional for an unrestored pickup. Straight and 99.9999% rust free. One very small spot of rust on the whole truck. Factory HD grille guard! I've had a couple other fords with these and they look cool on an old survivor like this and are very stout. I believe this truck was probably owned by a fire department, state, county, or other similar organization. The body is too nice to have sat outside in Montana winters. It was most likely garage or barn stored, at least for a large percentage of it's time. This is the F3 longbox stepside 1-ton. It has the fuel can on the one side, and the toolboxes on the other, which make it appear shorter and visually more like a shortbox. The truck has the flathead v8 which runs nice. A neat feature the truck also has is a vintage motorola aftermarket tube radio. The radio is a box that goes under the dash. The tuner/controls mounts under the dash. Below are all the details on the truck. I can send many more pics and video. Clear title in my name. I can assist with shipping if needed. Thank you. MECHANICAL This for has the flathead V8. I have not checked any numbers but it most likely is the original engine. This engine runs nice. No smoke, no ticks, no knocks. No oil in the water or water in the oil. Runs cool. Good oil pressure. The carburetor needs rebuilt so the truck isn't road worthy now. It also needs the exhaust replaced, and new tires. The brakes work. Master cylinder is rebuilt. I would check the wheel cylinders though. Clutch and transmission work perfectly. Wheels are 17" original or original style, and I believe were specific to an f3. Tires are readily available. Period correct 16" wheels are easy to find also if you prefer that size. I have not tried anything electrical on the truck. I'm not sure if it's 6v or 12v, or if it's been converted. It starts up fine though and hasn't burnt the points or anything. This pickup could be a daily driver with very little work. Dual exhaust with glasspacks would be perfect on it I think. BODY This truck has a very nice original body. I've owned many many 1947-1979 ford trucks and pickups. This has the nicest original body I've ever seen. Very dry. One spot of rust on the whole truck. It's at the bottom rear corner of one of the front fenders. Barely noticeable, and I would just leave it alone. There is very little for dents also. One rear fender needs a little work but I would personally just leave it alone if your going to use the truck as-is. The doors, hood, and tailgate operate as the should. The hood, fenders, doors, floors, firewall, header, cowl, roof, box, tailgate, cab, frame, etc. etc. are all dry with exception of the spot I mentioned. Windshield is chip and crack free. Most stainless, if not all, is in nice shape. The paint looks to be original. Door jams, under hood, underneath, are the same color and patina. Overall, a really good body that has a nice patina and "work truck time capsule" look to it. INTERIOR The interior in this is dry, clean, and in pretty good original condition. This truck is dry, clean, and doesn't stink. The seat needs recovered but it is completely usable now and matches the overall patina of the truck. No headliner, no floomat. Dash is pretty much uncut, as are the door panels. Wiring looks usable, although a painless type kit is pretty cheap. The wiring insulation on these trucks is normally brittle, and should be replaced if possible but may people don't. Door seals are worn as usual but cheap to replace. Thanks, and happy bidding.
