A 1968 Ford Mustang 2+2 with distinctive paintwork, premium interior, and enhanced 302 power under the hood. All of that makes it desirable, but you already felt that way from the moment the sporty and stylish fastback came into view. There's just something special about the metallic burgundy color that grabs your attention and doesn't let go. Maybe it's how the color has the universal appeal of red, but in a more sophisticated tone. Or maybe it's the way the modern clearcoat paint makes every one of the fastback's distinctive body curves flow like they liquefy the moment sunlight hits them. But the paint was far from the only major investment in this classic. Just look at all the chrome the bumpers, rocker panels, and delicate trim it all that is straight and mirror-like. While the restoration gives this a fantastic presence to an iconic car, there are some nice custom touches. You see it in places like the GT-style grille and the 15-inch REV torque thrust-style wheels. The interior has all the right factory components and a few nice upgrades. too. The comfort-weave black bucket seats feel great and show only minimal wear. They anchor a very original-looking interior with just a few important upgrades. The door panels, dash, and center console are a great combination of deep black and bright trim, and this makes for arguably the best-looking interior of the original Mustangs. You slip behind the correct factory deluxe steering wheel and gaze at the original gauge package. From here you can really tell that there has been some nice work in restoring and maintaining this fastback along factory specs. Still, there are some nice subtle upgrades like an AM/FM/CD stereo that has an aux input to keep this classic cruising with modern tunes. And the reason why it's such a great cruiser starts under the hood. This started out life a six-cylinder, and while that's a fine Mustang motor, we all really expect a fastback to live up to its name. That's why this one has been upgraded to Ford's famous 302 V8, and the enhancements didn't stop there. Beneath that bold blue stock air grabber are go-fast goodies like a Quick Fuel Slayer four-barrel carburetor, Ford Motorsports valve covers, and headers. Now you've got a total power package that's great on the streets, and it's even intimidating just when people hear the growling dual exhaust idle. And because you're going to want to show this total package off everywhere, there are great driving features such as the three-speed automatic transmission, power steering, and the grip of BF Goodrich T/As that are wider in the rear for better traction and stance. A fastback Mustang is already desirable, and this one is a shining standout among standouts for its color and features.
