I am selling a 1949 Ford Custom Deluxe four door sedan for a friend. It is a mostly original number 3 car with its original upholstery and painted a close to original green color. The owner has owned the car for several years and has added many new parts to it including a gas tank, a re cored radiator, a clutch and pressure plate, a 12 volt ignition system, front end parts with a rebuilt steering box and a battery just a few days ago. He recently replaced the tired flat head V-8 cylinder engine with a 1953 Mercury flat head V-8 engine with headers and dual carburetors. Paired with a rare overdrive transmission, this car has become a bit of a hot rod of the day. Being a four door sedan, this is a great family car for car shows, cruise nights, parades and other auto related outings. The car runs and drives well but the owner is still working out some minor issues related to recent repairs. The rebuilt steering box made the car much easier to steer but the steering wheel still needs to be set to its normal position. The car is currently using only one carburetor as the pair needs to be synced. The owner is currently trying to fix these minor issues so the car will then be good to drive anywhere. The owner is asking $5,500 OBO and would like to sell soon as he now has more vehicles than spaces in his garage and does not want to leave the car outside in the winter. If you have any questions about this vehicle, you may send me an email and I will find out the answers for you. Or call the owner directly at 773-450-9394 and ask for George. Or send him an email at fordman4916@yahoo.com. Note!! Obtaining the car is your responsibility of course and payment in full must be made before the car and the title are surrendered. The car is located on the northwest side of Chicago and it is a good idea to see it in person or have an agent see it before making a purchase in order to avoid any disappointment.
