Description of 1982 Ford Fairmont Futura |
| 1982 Ford Fairmont Durango Pickup ; 3.3 liter 6 cyl. ; automatic ; power steering ; power front disc brakes with new brake pads and calipers ; tilt steering wheel ; factory original AM/FM radio and works great ; new tires ; body in excellant condition with no rust now or ever ; interior in great condition except for a small tear on the driver's seat ; 41,915 miles ; runs and drives great ; 1979 was the last year for the Ranchero so Ford was looking for a replacement . They took the Ford Fairmont Futura and sent it to National Coach Works of California . They cut the Futura down behind the front seat and molded a fiberglass pickup bed for it . They keep the Futura taillights for the tailgate so when the tailgate is down you have no taillights . So I believe with the taillights and the fiberglass bed that is probility why they didn't sell very good . So all records pretty much show that they only produced about 200 of them . I have owned 4 of them in the past 7 to 8 years and I have this for sale which will leave me with one more to keep . The Durango is in original condition and looks better in person than it does in the pictures . This pickup is also for sale locally so I reserve the right to end the auction at anytime .
