Description of 1963 Ford F-100 |
A bit of history for those that aren't familiar with Ford unibody trucks. Many people have never seen one! In 1961 Ford took the bold step of combining cab body and bed into one piece which had never been done before resulting in a very interesting vehicle. The production run only lasted 2 1/2 years because farm customers tended to overload them causing the body to warp making the doors difficult to open and close. Today these very rare and unique trucks, especially the short beds, are highly prized by hot rodders and car customizers. Just look at what's on the cover of the current issue of Street Trucks magazine for proof. Fabrication work on this F100 unibody has been completed and it is ready to move on to the next stage of the build. This cool original paint patina screams "keep me" but the play book is still wide open on it. This body is nice and straight, virtually RUST FREE with no evidence of collision damage, however, the cab floor needs a little work. Below is a list of the work that has been completed: Frame has been C-notched and preparedto be bagged. Camaro A arm suspension has been installed. A 454 mockup motor goes with it but it is NOT TOO LATE TO GO WITH A FORD MOTOR. Comes with a 700R4 Automatic transmission installed. Corvette Independent Rear Suspension has been set up and installed Rear suspension is all there includingCorvette IRS and transverse rear spring New exhaust tubes are mandrel bent aluminized tubing Doors have good glass and latches Rear glass is good, windshield needs replaced, body side moldings are included Everything pictured is included NOTE: There is no interior or gauge cluster or seats included. This truck has received approximately $25,000 worth of fabrication work done on it! We are a restoration shop selling it in order to make room in our shop for incoming customers projects. We don't have enoughroom to store it any longer so our loss is your gain! Keep in mind we are a restoration / rod build shop so we could complete the build for you if desired. |
