The build began with an excellent super straight car. solid as a rock through and through. The body was stripped and prepped for paint while the chassis received an updated Mustang II front suspension which allowed for power rack and pinion steering and power disc brakes. The rear suspension was also set up with custom leaf springs. The drive train of choice for this 48 was the bullet proof Ford 302 V8 backed by a C4 automatic transmission and 9" Ford rear axle. The complete drive train performs like new. starts right up every time and idles smooth with no smoke or hesitation. The new burgundy paint looks amazing with a show quality finish along with all the bright work and chrome. The custom interior has been finished in a beautiful bone and burgundy leather with power bucket seats and console and features other options such as tilt wheel with cruise control. air conditioning and heat. electric wipers. and cd player. The dash looks incredible with all new chrome hardware and Stewart Warner guages. The power top is also new with chrome plated bows covered by a beige hartz cloth. This is one of the best driving street rod convertibles I have ever been in. super tight and smooth with a sound quiet ride. hard to believe your in a 48 model convertible. This baby needs nothing and is ready to show and go. Everything is in perfect working order. even the cruise control works. and it also just received a brand new set of chrome wire wheels and wide white radial tires.
