Description of 1971 Ford Mustang R Code Boss 351 |
Seven Hills Motorcars is proud to offer this absolutely stunning 1971 Ford "R" Code Boss 351 Mustang in exceptional fully restored condition. This Boss 351 is one of the best examples on the market and truly an investment grade car. It was treated to a nut and bolt rotisserie restoration at a cost of over $100,000 according to the previous owner. This particular example is exceptionally rare, in not only the fact that it is a true R Code Boss 351, but it is only 1 of 11 cars built with this color combination. The restoration is true concourse quality with correct finishes and even the paint markings on the underside and springs. The car was a Grand National Gold Award winner with the Mustang Club of America and the judging sheets are included with the car. There is no way a Mustang could be restored to this level of quality for any amount close to our asking price. In addition to the full restoration this Mustang received a full rebuild of the drivetrain just this year at a cost of over $16,600. This included a complete rebuild of the engine, transmission, and rear end. There are receipts included with the car and pictured below. The work was completed by the Mustang experts at Paul's Automotive, who has an excellent reputation in the Mustang community and are specialists in Mustang engine and machine work. The engine was completely rebuilt with the correct components specific to a 1971 Boss 351, which are very rare and hard to find including a DOAE-L 4-bolt main engine block dated 0L10 (Nov 10, 1970), D1ZX crankshaft, and DOAE-D main caps. There are photos of these numbers in a binder included with the car. This Mustang comes with a deluxe Marti report and 2 Eminger Sales invoices. The Marti report confirms this Mustang is only 1 off 11 made with these options. This Ford was built on May 3, 1971 and looks outstanding, runs great, and is an awesome driver. This is an excellent opportunity to own a rare Mustang that is ready to be used and enjoyed at an unbeatable value. The car is finished in the beautiful, rare, and highly desirable color combination of Grabber Blue (J) over White interior (5W). This is the correct and original color scheme as verified by the codes on the data tag pictured below and the Marti Report. Please peruse all of the photos, video, and other information below to get a true sense of clean and nice this Thunderbird really is. As a side note, this Boss 351 is not a dealer auction vehicle. We hand pick each car after careful inspection. Our classics come from owners who expect their cars to go to someone that will give the vehicle the same care and attention as they did. We invite and encourage you to examine the car in person or have the car inspected. Please take the time to scrutinize each picture. We photograph each vehicle to the greatest extent so you can feel confident about your purchase. If you have a question about the Ford, just give us a call.
