Launched in 1948 the legendary Ford F-series began as a replacement for the previous car-based pickups. For the first time Ford was building pickups on a dedicated truck platform creating a much better workhorse than previously available. Classic trucks are gaining momentum in the collector auto markets. Ford's 1st F-series generation lasted from the 1948-1952 model years but significantly changed in appearance from year to year making each version unique and pretty rare. While trucks sold well... most were obviously used work heavy workloads leaving few surviving examples in excellent condition. GR Auto Gallery is pleased to present this 1948 Ford F1 Panel Truck for purchase. The body on this vehicle is in wonderful condition per being stored a majority of its life post restoration. This is an older restoration according to the owner it was completed around 20 years back â€" but as mentioned it is still in excellent shape due to it being stored and properly maintained. The vehicle is powered by a 460 cubic inch V8 that is out of a 1971 Lincoln which is in great running condition and very strong. The exterior is finished in a Brown paint that has cleaned up exceptionally well and showing tons of life left in it after receiving a full professional detail. The cloth interior also cleaned up very nicely and is in overall good condition; the owner mentioned he believes the seats are out of a Ford Freestyle. This is a truly excellent truck inside and out professionally restored with no expenses spared. This truck has been stored inside and always cared for and is ready for its new owner to do the same.
