Description of 1968 Ford Mustang Fastback |
what you have is a fine 1968 mustang fastback finished in 2 stage urethane enamel paint, paint and body work were done by a professional, I know that after I bought the car for 8500, I paid the mechanic several thousand dollars to put the car into very good mechanical condition including brakes at all four wheels, including master cylinder, wheel cylinders, brake hoses, brake shoes, and hardware kits, The car also received a major tune up and externals to the engine were replaces such as water pump, radiator, holley 4v 600 CFM carburetor, exhaust manifold studs and a complete dual exhaust kit (superior aluminized style complete) was installed. I also have a brand new set of BF Goodrich 205 70 r 14 tires installed and a new set of American racing torque thrust D wheels. You will see a couple pictures showed the car after paint job with the original style GT wheels, but they are no longer on the car, I only mention them because they are in a photo... The car has essentially an original body except the full floor pans were replaced,, torque boxes, and floor supports and seat risers. The left front fender was also replaced along with new truck drops were installed. If you look the car also has newer interior, including all the dash bezels in the optional woodgrain styling, new dash pad, door panels, front seat upholstery, kick panels, carpet, kick panels and sill plates. Then you have a pretty darn good paint job, can it be criticized, id say it is not perfect but it is only about 6 months old. I did have someone who was looking to flip the car, say it needed to be repainted, but he was trying to steal the car I am sure. The car shows well, but there are still little things that need be done, like installing the arm rest pads, and the dual exhaust tips (I have them but did not install) and I believe I recently noticed the drivers side door jamb switch (a 2 dollar item) is not there. I do have also rocker trim, wheel house chrome, GT badges (its not a factory GT but I love the look I was going for) and the GT fog light bulbs and housings.. They cango with the car if we strike theright deal. Again the car is solid and sold as it is!! Car runsgreat, and Id take a video if you were seriously interested in the car, I do note that today I started the car up and it seemed to start slow (but the battery is new) so I believe the starter may need replacement, if it does, I will replace that starter!! I seriously believe in talking to people to hear their enthusiasm, as I have for the car. I d building the car about 3 years ago when I was married and I wanted a summer toy since my 1967 gt350 (NO, SORRY not for sale ever) was getting too expensive of a car to just drive on a nice summer week night or the weekends.. Now, regrettably I am divorced, and I have lost the passion for this car (somewhat).. I welcome your phone calls and I promise you I am very realistically pricing the car, so please call me at 551-204-0707 (Tony) |
