Description of 1964 Ford Fairlane FAIRLANE 500 V8 |
True Survivor Looks to be original paint with some touch up, could not see any evidence of repairs to have been done. California built ( San Jose ) and lived in California its whole life. currently titled in California, tags expired. $326.00 in late fees if you need to register in California. body is nearly perfec. carpet was stained and removed from the front, pulled up n the back seat floor to take pictures. All floors, very solid as well as the trunk. No visible rust from the bottom either. driver side front floor is only place you can see any signs of rust, and very minor ( see pic ) This is an original 260 V8 Auto, was used as daily driver until about 2 years ago when the head gasket failed. I am helping a friend sell as it has been sitting in garage and no time to repair. I did drain oil and put some clean oil in it for him a while back to preserve internals. car does not run, does crank over though. ( Loosing compression into crankcase) Seats have been redone and look amazing, needs carpet and headliner inside. tires have full tread and hold air, are a few years old though. This is column shift automatic, collar is broken ( replacements are available on ebay for less than 50.00) If not sold, will have engine repaired and relist as running and driving car. please let me know if you have any questions, 818-970-6972 I do not know all of my ford facts, but do know these are often converted to a thunderbolt clone, and do believe the 2 door sedan ( Post car) is more desirable for this? Also, the 260 v8 is the same engine family as the 289 and 302. I think a later model 5.0 with aod transmission would be a great swap too. I do have some interest locally as well. will end auction early only if no bids. I will not end auction early, or sell locally for any offers below start price. I will help with coordinating shipping/pick up as much as possible. For a fee, I can also deliver to shipping company. Again, when arranging shipment, male sure you tell them it does not run |
