Description of 1966 Ford Mustang |
I'm selling my 1966 Ford Mustang fastback that was originally owned by my uncle until he passed away where it was then passed on to my father. My father then passed it on to me recently. It is an old school show car from the 70s I believe.Based on the VIN#, it was originally a 6 cylinder standard model fastback, assembled in SanJose, CA,that someone converted to a GT. Ithas a clear title. Here are all the features I know of: -It was painted maroon top to bottom, including the underbody and wheel wells. It also has purple ghost flames on the front end. Unfortunately, the paint is showing its age with some areas of severe spider cracking.-There is custom red pinstriping all throughout the whole car inside and out, including the underbody.-The car is about90-95% rust free. The only area that is questionable for possiblecorrosion is the driver side floor board. Thereare a few small (thumb size) patches of body filler underneath the floorboard under the car (I have pictures of it if requested). All fenders, doors, hood, front end, rear end, interior, under carriage, sub frame, etc show no signs of corrosion. I didn'tinspectevery inch of the car, so if youhave a specific area of concern, let me know and I will provide pictures. -It has a 60s vintage 302 V8 that requires lead additive to the fuel to lubricate the non-hardened valve seats in it (I am including 2 qts of additive with the car).-It has an automatic transmission.-It has a chrome rear end (that is in almost perfect condition), chrome oil pan, chrome mudflaps, and chrome traction bars (driver side bar has been painted over). The chrome on both bumpers are in great condition as well.-It has custom interior upholstery on all seats and behind the fold down rear seat.-The front seats are from a 70 mustang.-It comes with 14'' front and 15'' rear American Racing wheels.-It has an aftermarket Pioneer stereo system w/ speakers.-Only modern upgrade is the 600 cfm Edelbrock carbuerator (2010).-New starter (2012), battery (2015), and alternator.-All interior lighting, signals, and dash lighting work.-No mechanical issues with the car. It starts up the first time every time, even in sub-zero temperatures. It drives great with no alignment issues. -The drivers side door VIN# tag has been removed. The VIN# is visible on the fender stamp under the hood. See picture of the stamp, sorry that it is hard to see. -Only issues are both back up lights don't work, which I believe is due to a bad back-up switch. The horn doesn't work (another bad switch). The dash clock doesn't work. The transmission cooling tubing lines have a couple small leaks from them at the fittings. The car only sat in my father's garage except for a few days a year in the summer that he took it out. Even with the paint cracking, the car is a real eye catcher, is put together well, and sounds great. I apologize for all the pictures with leaves on the ground that reflect onto the paint that look like defects (only defects on the paint are the spider cracks and some chipping). Feel free to contact me for more pictures/videos or questions. |
